No Lord Kalvan.

Great classic sf. Could use better breaks between stories. I wish it contained Lord Kalyan of Otherwhen.

Horrible Production Standard

Whoever edited this audiobook needs to consider giving the finished product a proof-listen before shipping it off marked as "done." One of the stories is missing a whole section out of the middle (but don't worry, the missing section shows up at the end of the book). The last story simply stops in the middle of the story.

I do not recommend buying this version, and I intend to try to get my money back.

narrator

I like Piper's books. However the narrator did not seem to even try to differentiate the characters' voices, making this recording harder to finish.

editing poor

Most of the last chapter " end credits" needs to go earlier in book.

Technical Difficulties

There seems to be a section of story missing from the middle and appearing at the end instead.
I'm sure Audible will fix it soon, so it shouldn't count against the audio book in general.

Classic Tales of the Multiverse

H. Beam Piper wrote these stories in the late 1940s and they hold up remarkably well. If you are interested in stories concerning parallel universes, you will love these stories. It also serves as a introduction to Piper's Terran-Human Empire series.

This takes me back.

First got involved with H. Beam Piper back in my college days. Little Fuzzy and Four Day Planet started me off. I always found the whole Para-time concept interesting. Got hooked on that with Lord Kalvan of Otherwhen. Surprisingly, it trips you up when you listen to the stuff now in how they viewed how the future would be. You know, like watching an old 60’s vintage Sci Fi movie. You know, the stuff that came out of Italy every other week.
