Publisher's summary

Do you believe in fate? Do you believe that your life is mapped out for you?

What if your fate was actually determined by something small - something like, what counter you used in a game of Monopoly?

That certainly seems the case for Troy Thompson, a former F1 driver who now drives taxis (because he missed the high speeds and risk taking) and used to be the little pewter car when he played Monopoly with five others back at the Silver Sands Caravan Park in Whitley Bay, in 1985. Now, 25 years later, the six friends are drawn back to the camp by something - something ethereal, something dark. Does it have something to do with fate? Kismet? Yoga? The Ouija board the six friends used on that last night together 25 years ago?

Whatever it is, something is stirring at the park amidst rumors of time standing still, zombies and big ginger Vikings haunting the camp shop.

Paranopoly is Peter Nuttall's third novel and continues his flair for quirky humor, engaging storytelling, and deep characterization. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll want to visit a caravan park.

What one childish game could do ....

Paranopoly is written by Peter Nuttall. The narration for this audiobook is provided by Hannibal Hills. Paranoply has a total running time of 6 hours and 51 minutes. During that time the listener will be taken into a unique world created by the author. The listener is challenged to question if our lives are ruled by fate or free will. Could your fate be determined by something like the counter you used in a game of Monopoly 25 years ago?

Attention Holding

The thought that the consequences of a childish game of six friends using a The Ouija board; on what would be their last night together for over 25 years was interesting. The author does an amazing job of creating memorable characters and locations. They are quirky and entertaining at first but become tiring rather quickly. The introduction to each character was fun but seemed to run on a bit longer than needed. It could just be a regional thing as well. Each country is unique in its storytelling style. The story does tend to drag in places as the story moves along to its conclusion but the world the author has created is interesting.

Narration and Production Value

The narration by Hannibal Hills is really enjoyable. This is my first time hearing an audio performance from the talented narrator Hannibal Hills. Mr. Hills provides excellent voices to the characters in this cast of characters from his voicing of the seemly sad sack character of Simon to the opposite side of the coin Nina. I really enjoyed his narration during this audio performance and look forward to hearing more of his work in audio productions. The production quality of this audiobook is also the highest quality. I heard no problems during the entire performance. There were not any detectable flaws that I was able to hear during the entire performance such as loops, breaks, or buzzing. The production was crisp and clear. Peter Nuttall Productions delivered an excellent audiobook production.

Funny, silly, entertaining

This is the first book I’ve read/listened to by this author and I would listen to another. How he brings the characters from a childhood camping trip and back to the same spot again is great. He adds meat to the bones of each character and cleverly chooses how each persons life was effected by the last game they played together. This story is uncomplicated, entertaining and silly with some heartfelt moments.

This is the ninth book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Hannibal Hills ) and I would listen to another. I’ve enjoyed every book of his I’ve listened to. He makes the characters come to life and the story engaging. He has a broad range of voices to personalize each character.

There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence. I don’t recall any swearing.

too short

this book would have been even better with more character development and a more in depth storyline, it felt hurried and abridged. It's a shame that it was such a short listen this book had potential, in the vien of A Martínez or Moore book, but it was great white it lasted.
