Story
When Kennedy Stern's childhood pastor asks her to volunteer at his new pregnancy center, she carves time out of her rigorous college schedule to promote the cause of the unborn. After receiving a disturbing call from someone far too young to carry a child, Kennedy can no longer blindly hide behind the pro-life platitudes she grew up believing. She resolves to locate the unknown girl but winds up entrenched in a mystery that grows more convoluted as it unfolds.

By: Alana Terry
Publisher's Summary
Kennedy Stern has returned to campus after surviving an abduction, but old scars cut deep. Vivid flashbacks and terrifying dreams paralyze her, threatening to ruin her academic career and any chance she has at peace or happiness. This mental anguish, however, constitutes only a small fraction of her post-traumatic nightmare.
A partner in Kennedy's kidnapping remains at large and will not stop until he has silenced her witness permanently. His violent resolve risks not only her life, but the safety of anyone who tries to help.
Kennedy must engage in a deadly battle of the mind as she struggles to stay alive. While fighting on two fronts - one psychological and one physical - the question isn't whether she'll come out of the war stronger in the end.
The question is whether she'll come out of it at all.

Another great Alana Terry Book
If you could sum up Paralyzed in three words, what would they be?
Real suspenseful intense
What was one of the most memorable moments of Paralyzed?
Kennedy seeing the doorknob turn right after her father tells her about the pending dangerous accomplice.
Which character – as performed by Keli Douglass – was your favorite?
Sandy
Who was the most memorable character of Paralyzed and why?
Carl - He's one tough bird
Any additional comments?
One of the greatest things about Alana Terry’s writing is she’s not afraid to tackle hard topics. In book one, Unplanned, Kennedy Stern faces and survives a kidnapping by crazed maniacs. In Paralyzed we meet Kennedy again and share the realities of the aftermath. Over and over, Kennedy struggles with what being a Christian means in recovery. If she prays enough, reads her bible enough, does enough, she will be healed from the PTSD that is crippling her life. I found the realism of Kennedy’s struggles, combined with the fast-paced story, a great combination.

Kennedy is so well described!
I feel like I know her personally! My heart aches for all she suffers with the PTSD and the situations she endures in this book! I have a friend who also suffers from her time in Afghanistan! It's terrible to experience the horrors Satan puts people through but God is still the answer and the only one who can heal and protect, calm and strengthen! May we all have compassion for those who suffer such traumas! And keep them in our prayers as we listen and love them as Jesus does!
