Good narrator, Interesting enough
But ultimately disappointing to me. Charlotte’s complete and total self righteousness is becoming rather tiresome. Her character, at times, delights in the misery of others. Yet she is held up to be the most kind and beautiful chestnut haired Saint Charlotte. I feel Ms. Perry has put her character on a pedestal, but at the same time, this same character is petty and vindictive towards other women! Just because they’re rich and not perfect, she is constantly mocking them and laughing under her breath! Certainly no one can hold a candle to the absolute perfection of Ms. Charlotte. I will not be surprised when at some point she’s transported directly to heaven, and surely be the most beautiful woman there! Endings are abrupt
I have listened to 3 books in this series and have enjoyed them. The stories are interesting but the endings are very abrupt and leave you wondering why. The next book doesn’t give you answers.

I just love these!
How can one help but love Anne Perry's writing? She carries you off to a completely different time and place. There are always twists and turns with Inspector Pitt, Charlotte and Emily unwinding them as they go. I've read them before, but it's lovely to listen to Davina Porter reading them for us.

Fun Read
Fun, easy cozy mystery. Charlotte helps Thomas solve another mystery. This time she gets to return to her luxury roots and enjoy the upper class life while she's in the middle of solving the rape/murder of a young society girl. Always fun to read stories of the Pitts doing their thing.
