Although published in 1962, this story packs all the punch of today's headlines. A scientist accidentally creates a super-virus during an experiment. It spreads from a hospital to a college campus and then rapidly around the world. In an effort to save mankind from extinction, the countries of the world band together to try and find a cure.

Their efforts are futile until, in a small laboratory in the USA, two scientists find a possible cure - but one that has serious health consequences of its own.

Reseñas editoriales

Jessie Franklin Bone's 45-minute audiobook Pandemic follows Dr. Alan Thurston, who intends to do good with a research project, but instead creates a killer epidemic. Once again, looks like the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Jim Roberts' performance is intellectual and carefully paced; listening to him is engrossing. He handles medical language with ease. Seemingly passionate about the characters' struggles, Roberts plays their dialogue with believability. Disaster scenario fans will certainly enjoy this intense little gem.

I think the guy who read this is a robot. His voice is so monotone and emotionless I couldn't focus on what he was actually saying. I hit rewind and listen more carefully only to realize that the story is ridiculous, too. I'm not sure why it was even written. This book is utterly pointless and I'm angry that 45 minutes of my life were wasted on it.
