Publisher's summary

From the dark depths of Hollywood’s past

The crime scene is horrific: the corpse of a young actress, drained of blood and cut in two. LAPD Detective Sophie Manning’s new case is high-profile and difficult - there’s no evidence to work with. And it’s a disturbing echo of the infamous Black Dahlia killing. Sophie is burning the candle at both ends, desperate to catch the murderer before he strikes again, when she starts to experience inexplicable visits...from ghosts.

Bruce McFadden has a particular talent that can help Sophie - he can speak with the dead. As a consultant for the FBI’s paranormal team, the Krewe of Hunters, he’s been tasked with Sophie’s case and they’re forced to partner up. But Sophie doesn’t want his help, and she doesn’t want to share his peculiar skill. And she certainly isn’t ready for love, despite Bruce’s attentions.

As the killer taunts the police, Sophie and Bruce will discover that the threat is closer to home than they’d ever realized. Working side by side is the only way they’ll stop this deadly sequel.

Another Great one

I have enjoyed Heather Graham’s Krewe of Hunters books since the beginning. The mix of murder mystery, paranormal and history with just a little romance makes every book excellent.

BEST BOOK IN A LOOONG TIME!!

I've been disappointed lately in most of the books I've gotten and haven't finished most. This book was excellent and kept me interested and waiting for the next turn to come. I've never in any of the books I've read been totally creeped out and even a little afraid but this one got me down in the caverns. I hope I'm right that Bruce and Sophie will be back!

Good story plot

As always Heather Graham comes through. A little humor, friendly
Ghosts and a great heroine. My only criticism would be the narrative, he speaks abit to fast for me.

Excellent modern mystery narrated by a master!

Luke Daniels is so talented and when given a decent script his genius really shines. This story has plenty of twists and turns that keep adding layers to the tale. Well written and superbly narrated, “Pale as Death” is definitely worth listening to. In spite of the serious subject matter of a copycat serial killer, Heather Graham relieves the tension with enough subtle humor incorporated in a ghostly character that Luke Daniels animates perfectly. Add a bit of romance to the suspense and an excellent novel is the result. Definitely worth a credit!

Pale as Death

I have read almost every book by the Crewe. I loved this one as much as the others. I like how Luke Daniels narrated it too. What a sexy voice!!

History meets modern crime.

I love when a book incorporates history with a modern day story. The Black Dahlia crime makes a fascinating backdrop for our main characters. Although they don't get to solve the historical murder, with the help of a few ghosts, they figure out who's obsessed enough to recreate them. Luke Daniels was awesome, as always.
