Lorraine Davenport stood next to the bed, her hand on the handle of the suitcase which rested there. She was tearful, but still looking heartbreakingly beautiful to her husband Edward standing several feet away, his hands in his blue Jean pockets and feeling helpless.

The 30 year old Lorraine had never been more upset with herself in her life. When she and Edward had been married he knew that she was sometimes quite emotional, but he also knew that she was bright, usually quite witty, but always an honest and candid person. But now Edward felt his own eyes moistening, distraught at the thought of Lorraine going away for a while.

At a family dinner, Lorraine had snapped at her nitpicking mother-in-law and called her a regretful name. But she had work to do that required much concentration and insisted that Edward go to their cabin without her and sort things out. She was dealing with deep remorse. But she decided that against her own reluctance, it was time for her school administrator husband to use a behavioral modification method that was part of his job.

And when they reunited, things got interesting.
