Publisher's summary

When Kori Clausen felt him take his last breath and watched as the arm that was holding her suddenly dropped limply to his side, she hadn’t just unexpectedly lost her husband and the father of their four daughters. She had also lost her pillar of strength and what she thought was her last chance at salvation from the demons that had haunted her most of her life. As the days and months passed, and Kori felt herself slipping back into the old familiar darkness, she wondered who would now set her free…and how.

Paddle Out is an inspiring look at a loving woman constantly combating life’s familiar struggles, the quest to find those things that can make us better, and how to overcome sudden tragedy when all that we know, all we depend on, is suddenly ripped away from us.

As Kori tiptoes on the edge of that slippery slope, she feels compelled by Clint’s sweet and sarcastic spirit to not just get help, but also to surrender to the process, let go of the fear, and laugh at the pain as she shares her story and bares the truth on her quest to catharsis, happiness, and a brighter future.

What an amazing story of triumph

This book is an incredible story of strength. Kori used the power of her vulnerable to birth her truth. I’m grateful she listened to the calling to not only write but publish this book.

Wonderful and honest

I love the way the author was honest with her thoughts, feelings, and actions. Very relatable to my own journey. It takes a lot of courage to put it into writing for whomever to read.

Amazing Memoir

There are very few people that I know of that could take a hard look at their life, including all of the warts and heartache, and work on making themselves a better person. After experiencing the worst tragedy in her life, she chose to go back to childhood to present day, to become a confident, very loving woman. and leave behind her self-loathing. This journey took her years of therapy to peal away the "onion" but her hard work brought her to where she is today. This is a must read or audible for those who might be going through similar tragedies in their life, whether it's death, addiction or abuse.

Too Much Self Loathing

I was hopeful this would be a good read. Turned out to be just irritating. She goes back and forth through the whole book from “poor me” to grandiosity. She makes excuses for her bad choices and blames them on other people’s actions. She could just be a narcissist. She wants you to feel bad for her, but also wants you to think she’s amazing. Me, me, me, me.
