Can't Believe It!

So mad right now - I swore I would not listen to another audible book that was a duet, trilogy, series, etc., until all books were available. How do you avoid this, when the publisher, author, or whoever doesn't announce this fact before you purchase. What I thought was a stand alone obviously is not - I read the audible reviews and no one mentioned it ended completely unfinished, left me hanging and who knows for how long - probably until I have forgotten what I just listened too, as I devour audios at a rate of 5 -7 per week.
The book is amazing - the narrators are amazing - you will enjoy it, however you will be left hanging - I wish someone had warned me - I feel I needed to pass this on. No clue when the continuation will be available. Love audio, but getting really burnt out on being deceived.

Forbidden romance?

I love this book but I wish it was mentioned in the blurb that it’s a cliffhanger...
Great storyline with good progression
Characters descriptions is good, they all feels familiar after a while.
There’s lots of feelings and the author has a way of getting the emotions through in her story.
Steamy love scenes
Samantha is strong and Liam is stubborn, it’s a turbulent relationship growing between them.

Narrators:
Very good voices that has clear pronunciation and passionate reading.

If you like a hint of forbidden love and a cliffhanger I recommend you listen to this. Even with the cliffhanger it’s worth it. Next book please!!!

The Perfect Push Out of My Comfort Zone

I'm not generally a fan of age gap or taboo romances, but Liam and Samantha's story really sucked me in! Skye Warren really took me out of my comfort zone with this forbidden love story between a ward and her guardian. Even though there are 16 years that separate Samantha and Liam, I found myself amazingly rooting for them by the end. The fact that I was able to look past all the things that would have warning bells going off in my mind as a parent, is a true testament to Skye Warren's brilliant storytelling. The angst is super high in this one, but it's balanced well with the suspense and mystery surrounding Samantha's past and the more intimate moments. I'm very intrigued by the North siblings and hope that we will see books for them in the future as well.

Teddy Hamilton's narration is wonderful as always, but I'm more used to him as the sweeter hero, so it was an adjustment to think of him as the ultra-alpha and gruff Liam North. Grace Grant's performance was good, but I felt her voice was a bit too mature for 17 (almost 18) year old Samantha. Hamilton and Grant worked well together though and overall, it was a pleasant listening experience (though I enjoyed Hamilton's narration more).

Listeners should note that this is book 1 in a trilogy, so be prepared for a cliffhanger. As far as cliffhangers go, it wasn't terrible at all, but it's something to keep in mind. I'm excited to see what's next for Liam and Samantha!

Sorry Teddy, you are a 10!! However the female narrator is awful. Her male voice is beyond BAD. I will never understand why Audible continues to put such incredibly bad narrators with top tier performers.
This is not the first time I have returned books narrated by her!
I love Skye Warren, so I will be reading the rest of the trilogy unless Teddy is reading both parts!!

*This book ends in a cliff hanger* I wasn't aware of that before starting the book but the second book is soon to be released.
Samantha Brooke is an almost 18 year old child prodigy. She has an amazing talent with the Violin and is soon to start going on tour. When her father died 6 years ago Liam North took her in as his legal guardian. Now that the clock is ticking down to her 18th birthday, a lot of things are about to change, secret revealed, and the temptation between them both is starting to become unbearable.

This was an amazing read (listen). Liam is dark, and captivating. The whole story has a seductive and forbidden feel as Liam is 16 years older than Samantha, but there is so much more to the story than the forbidden fruit story line as there are many twists along the way that must be revealed. All throughout both Liam and Samantha feel wrong about their desire for each other.

Can not wait for the second book to be released.

The Audio for this book was beautifully done. This was the first audio I've listened from Teddy Hamilton and Grace Grant but they did a wonderful job matching the voices for each of the characters.

Taboo and Fabulous!

This a story about Samantha & Liam. Sam is a violin prodigy and Liam's ward. She has been since she was a child. Now Sam is turning 18 and getting ready to go on a world tour. Both Sam and Liam are anxious about the tour. We see pretty early on that both are very attracted to each other and by the end of this book they act on those feelings.. Liam is very possessive with Sam. He owns a security agency and he keeps a tail on her at all times. Liam is less than forthcoming with many question's Sam has, which leads to turmoil in their relationship. This books ends on a little cliffhanger. I love that this has duel narration. Teddy & Grace do an amazing job of bringing the characters to life. I love Skye and this is probably the 10th book I read by her. She is amazing! #AudioObsessionReviwer.

Forbidden, steamy and mysterious! I love age gap romances and this one did not disappoint. The H pushes the h away for most of the book making this a very slow burn. It's a trilogy and does end in a bit of a cliffhanger that I did not see coming. The secondary characters were great!

Teddy was fantastic! His voice is perfect for the alpha characters. 5 stars
Grace Grant is also great but I did feel that she her voice sounded too old for a 17 year old. 4 stars

☆Audiobook Obsession ☆

A true masterpiece

When the one thing you crave is the only thing you can never touch.

Overture is an addictive listen. Absolutely everything you could want in a forbidden romance. It’s well written and perfectly narrated.

I would recommend this for anyone who enjoys forbidden/taboo, OTT Alphas, steamy angst and suspense. I can’t wait to continue on in this series.

Interesting forbidden romance

Narrators did a good job! Liked both the male and female narrators; each fit the characters well and they both have nice sounding voices.

Good chemistry between Liam and Samantha. Like the forbidden aspect, but I would’ve preferred for them to wait till she was 18 before anything romantic happened between them. It’s not the full thing, but too much with someone under age. Liam is Samantha‘s guardian since she was 12 years old; she’s just about to turn 18, he’s in his early 30’s. She is a prodigy with the violin and is about to go on a world tour, and Liam runs a security firm with his brothers. They both feel an intense pull towards each other, but Samantha is the main aggressor; Liam is trying to be a good guy and resist the pull. There’s also some possible danger out to get Samantha; possibly in connection with her father’s death, so there’s a bit of action too. Liam and his team help protect Samantha. This book does end on a cliffhanger, so you’ll be needing to read the next books for the full story. Overall, the story was entertaining for me and I liked the chemistry between Liam and Samantha. I also liked the musical element to the story; the facts at the beginning of each chapter were fun. I look forward to the next books!

First in the series . It’s not a typical romance story . It touches on a topic that not many authors will write about . It’s a little not on the light side . The heroine . Skye Warren always likes to take the listener to a different level and open up their minds They story is about a younger women and older man which is not uncommon.

The narrating team of Teddy and Grace is fantastic. Their performance is strong , clear , smooth and they brought the emotional to life

Amazingly good!

Oh boy, this was a rollecoster of emotions. I like the way Liam knows his place in Samantha's life, he knows he is a person of power, a father figure who's much older than she is and he didn't act, even though he liked her and she push him. A lot.

Ok so their actions weren't that believable but with a little suspend of disbelief you can pass the insta-love/attraction. What I didn't like it is the amount of time we spent in their heads and the repetitiveness of it all, it was quite tiresome.

Teddy hamilton and Grace Grant did an terrific job. I like the choosing of Grace Grant for Samantha, her voice is not annoyingly high pitched, it's perfect for Samantha.

Masterpiece, this new series will be epic!

Liam became Samantha, a story very unique, when you have feelings for your guardian. Liam knows he shouldn't pursue anything with Samantha, but it is getting harder to not be. Their forbidden attraction will make you read it all and want for more and more. But as secrets are kept and they are about to be discovered will those ruin everything. Just a stellar new masterpiece you need to read. Teddy Hamilton and Grace Grant did a brilliant job narrating this book, their characters were portrayed to perfection, their emotions were felt through each word. The edition of the audiobook overall was pretty well done. Definitely a recommendation to get this in audiobook.

Must listen to this series in order.
I am not familiar with this subject So I had a little bit of trouble staying focused on the story at first. She is about to turn 18 and her world is going to be turned upside down. The author does a good job at not making this sound like a father daughter romance. He has been her guardian but not really a father figure. Narration is great. I recommend this book.

So much angsty taboo goodness!
I’ve learned that when you dig into a Skye Warren book you won’t be disappointed. Overture is taboo, age gap, angst, suspense, mystery you won’t want to miss.
Can’t wait to dig into book 2!

Not what I expected but good

I didn't expect this book to be what it was about. I try to go in blind often so as to just listen and be pleasantly surprised. I was! I thought it would simply be about a teacher student relationship but it was not. It was a lot of cloak and dagger and an age gap romance. I liked the mystery and suspense of it all. And of course the narration by Teddy Hamilton was really sexy and good as usual. I can't wait for the next book in the series to find out what is next!

I need book 2 ASAP

Overture by Skye Warren has been on list to listen to since it came out, but I let the fact that it was a trilogy discourage me from listening (bad idea), until I just couldn’t wait anymore and decided to listen anyway (great idea). This book was as perfectly taboo as I imagined it would be and I loved Liam and Samantha even more than I ever expected, and in spite of the taboo nature of their relationship. The added suspense in the story was nice too and the music tidbits at the start of the chapters provided a little bit of trivia to my obviously lacking knowledge of classical music.

The narration by Teddy Hamilton and Grace Grant was superb. I couldn’t have imagined anyone different for the duo, as they both brought these characters to the life in a beautiful way. I can definitely see myself listening to this one again in the future.

Excellent!

I loved this taboo listen!! It was so extra steamy and the author keeps us hanging on to every word. The characters were fabulous and the chemistry was off the charts. Can't wait for the next one!

The narration was excellent and the narrators were a great match. Their performance had me captivated and fully engaged from start to finish.

Perfectly Taboo

Oh wow! Blown away. My first Skye Warren read, and obviously not my last, because no matter what. I have to finish this trilogy. I loved Liam and Samantha, and taboo or not (yep, definitely taboo, and I did have mixed feelings, I have a teenage daughter after all), they were a wonderful couple, or they could have been if given the chance. A story full of passion, along with I’m sure a little intrigue, which I can only see intensifying in the following books. Samantha may be very sheltered, but she’s strong and independent, and a perfect match for Liam and his macho, domineering ways. I loved all the characters, the story, and the narration curtesy of Teddy Hamilton and Grace Grant.

I need more NOW!

O how much did I enjoy this book! Yes it’s forbidden, but the story is so much more. Such a slow burn, maybe too slow! I have to say that him shutting her down over and over was a bit annoying I would have given up long before her. How could you end the book just like that, I need more!

The narration was brilliant two of my favourite narrators! Was the first time I listened to them together but now I am going to look for more books by them together ❤️
