Fun Story

Over the Faery HIll is a fun story with lots of lessons to be learned. The main character, Joey, is a middle aged woman who feels like she is cursed. After a bad accident as a teen, an injury ruined her chances of becoming an Olympic star. Instead of adapting or finding something else to focus on for her life, she stays stuck in the past and in regret, and lives what she thinks is a miserable life. Then she meets a faery who bargains with her and offers her a chance to change the past. It's a fun story with magic, time travel, and light romance. I liked that the romance was not the full focus of the story. This is all about Joey and how she must overcome this or be truly cursed forever.
It resonated with me because I'm in my 30's and at times I have focused on my regrets or bad choices and it can be easy to get stuck in that mindset instead of focusing on the present and future.
The book was well written and the narrator for Audible was great. I really enjoyed this book!

Loved it

Such a great story that reminds us to be careful what we wish for. It was easy for this fairy to trap Jo into a bargain. Being middle aged & down on her luck. A fun story with great characters. Loved it.

Excellent

Meeting Joey in this madcap adventure of traveling back to correct what she thinks were mistakes. The biggest was a mishap stopped her from being a gymnast. Was delightful, amusing and good entertainment. The narration added to her character and was enjoyable to listen to. Given audio for my voluntary review

A new take on PWF

This book is a little different than many of the Paranormal Women Fantasies. Joey isn’t having to start her life over again after her kids have left for college or because her horrible ex-husband has belittled her or betrayed her. She does have an ex but their relationship is different. Joey’s life never really began or at least she doesn’t think so. This book definitely has a feel of It's a Wonderful life towards the end. But Ms. Hart adds her own unique touch and the ending had a very good twist you aren't quite expecting. I loved Grammy B and her best friend Darcy. I'm looking forward to the next in the series. I was given this audiobook and my request in exchange for an honest review.

Great New PWF

Joey just can't seem to get a break. Now divorced and living in her old childhood home with her mother. Joey meets Robin, that's when things get weird. Robin offers Joey a way to change her life, will she take his offer. I immediately liked Joey, i can relate to her and Grandma Bea seems like a sassy old bitty, i love it. Jennifer L. Hart is a new author to me, it won't be the last time i'll be reading her books. I know there are other books in this series, which excites me. So many new PWF books. Give this book a try, you won't regret it.

Really good! Narrator a no, though.

It took a bit of time to understand the ending. I rewound a zillion times, and then finally decided to let the book play out and see if it got clearer then. It did, though there is NO way I could explain it to you.

I really liked the story but I do want to say that it lacked the full zing I’m used to from Hart. Not dull, or plodding, just a little less magical, which is a bit ironic. Lol It does feel a bit like a teen book, except for the "ahem" parts, which are minimal. No problem with a teen book, but I am not sure this is the audience she was reaching for.

The narrator was a total flop for me. To start, the main male character’s accent was in no way Welsh, but even if it had been, the narrator was very inconsistent with it, all over the UK and even further. It was very distracting. She also didn’t keep track of the ages of the other characters, because half the time the friend sounded like the grandmother, the mother like the grandmother, etc etc. When I reread this, it will be the ebook turned into text-to-speech.

I received a free copy of this audio book.
