    Mar 19 2024
Today’s episode features Kellita Maloof, a trauma-informed, award-winning Performing and Teaching Artist and Conscious Burlesque Mentor, lovingly known as the Showgirl Shaman. Join us on this journey of joy, embodiment, creative expression and community! 🌱 In this episode, you’ll learn: Kellita’s perspective on “the grind” and its systemic nature. How the grind had its grips on her even as a little kid with a worry list. How change requires feeling, which requires more time and space. How our feelings are our most current data and information in our lives. What sensations Kellita notices in her body when she’s excited about something. The offering Kellita allowed herself to change her mind about. Kellita’s journey towards dance and her shift in focus from her weaknesses to her joy. How joy and pleasure is a practice and can be easier to practice when in community with others. Kellita’s “gateway drug” that led her to a career in creative and healing arts. Why Kellita believes in prioritizing relationality over instrumentality like production and output leads to a more fulfilling and sustainable creative practice. Stacy shares her experience of dancing in San Francisco’s Carnaval parade last year and how the joy and connection far outweighed her initial fears and doubts. 🌱 In this episode, you’ll learn:

    • How a cold piece of pizza at Amber’s cubicle desk was a moment of clarity.

  • Cultivating Self-Trust When Creating Something New with Seema Sodha
    Sep 1 2023

I'm so excited to introduce you to Seema Sodha, Canadian Indian leadership and executive coach, heart centered facilitator, women's circle holder, and writer. In this conversation, Seema shares about how easily creative endeavors can turn into the grind, especially when we’re looking for answers outside of ourselves.

🌱 In this episode, you’ll learn:

    • The story of how I first met Seema and what an honor and delight it is to co-create with her.

    • What household object the texture of “the grind” reminds Seema of.

    • How Seema’s rigid writing regimen got her more words on the page but missed the heart and soul.

    • The messages we receive about productivity and action that can get especially loud when we create something new.

    • How Seema shifted her approach to bring more of herself and her unique taste into her writing.

    • The beautiful way Seema engages her senses and self-trust when she writes.

    • How trusting ourselves is an important part of taking our power back, and how it’s a nonlinear process.

    • What external forces make it easy for us to hand our power over to someone else and not trust ourselves.

    • How Seema sees the moments we realize we’re in the grind as an invitation.

    • How sharing your truth and connecting with others is an antidote to the sneakiness of the grind that wears us down.

    • About our upcoming women’s circle where we’ll help you explore and befriend your inner good girl / people pleaser.

    • The two herbs from Seema’s garden that transform her week.

    • Reflection question: Bring to your heart or mind the thing that you're creating right now. How can you bring more of you [and your own unique flavor] into it?

Stacy Rocks It!

I have listened to all the casts she has put out. I think Stacy has a communication style that is down to earth, she uses her life experience and interviews, as well as, examples taken from authors. She couldn't be more engaging at teaching you to improve your life. She provides motivation and crafts small approaches to lift and brighten your day.
She uses Style and Grace in communicating all the things only you, thought you thought!
The pod cast is very authentic and a easy listen.
