Publisher's Summary

Bold, breathtaking, and beautiful, the Australian outback calls to Lesley Holleck like no other site on the continent. The young firebrand soon realizes, however, that the untamed region could exact a brutal price from all who dare enter it.

Disguised as a rowdy jackaroo with a special talent for taming horses, she earns the admiration and respect of the people who help her survive there and forever change her world, including Zachary Cooper, who longs to tame Lesley's wild heart.

Determined to find her place on the frontier, Lesley battles disasters both natural and man-made. Yet only with a courage and cunning born of her undying love for the land will she secure her piece of the outback legacy.

To much filler!

The actual story plot was short so a lot of adjectives “additives”put in about food and looks and love making. All of which added nothing to story but increased the word count. Would have been a better 8 hour book!

Good story BUT painful to listen to!

Great Australian novel with the depiction of life and drama on a sheep station and the personalities that run it give the reader a fantastic insight into early Australian life.

BUT....

The Narration of this makes it painful to listen to. The mispronunciation of Basic Australian names is appalling. The worst was corroboree (kə-rŏbˈə-rē) as "Cory-Borey"

Disappointment

the American accent of the narrator really killed the story!! Too much miss pronunciation had me cringing.
Australian stories deserve the correct toning .
