Roommates to friends to lovers…

Elliot:

I need a roommate fast. Even a temporary one. Beggars can’t be choosers. Going pro after graduation has been intense, and time is precious. Thankfully, Braden seems cool. He’s a little quirky…and very sexy. Of course, I would never get involved with a roommate. That’s a bad idea. Isn’t it?

Braden:

Moving to Long Beach seems like a no brainer. It’ll be a perfect chance to wind down before grad school and a nice respite from my folks. Plus, my new roommate is a great guy. A little messy, but sweet. Gotta admit, I like him more than I should. And we’re off to a strange start when a mutual friend hooks me up with his ex. Elliot’s the one I want, but going from friends to lovers is a risk. We could end up out on the serve…or we could win it all.

Out on the Serve is a low-angst MM, bisexual romance starring two roommates, one neat, one messy, beach volleyball, a lot of sand, and a little summer fun. This story is part of the Out in College series but can be enjoyed as a stand-alone.

A Friends to lovers contemporary romance!

I'm so happy Elliot finally got his shot at an HEA.

I have been binge listening to this series and I can't get enough of Lane Hayes work and the amazing characters created by them.

This was an easy 5 stars from me.
Also isn't the cover absolutely gorgeous! "Swoon worthy" is more like it.

This sweet friends to lovers romance was the absolute best pick me up, light hearted rom com romance.

Narrated by the very talented Michael Dean, it was an absolute stunner!!🤩

Fun, sweet, overall a good time

Michael Dean is the perfect narrator for these characters. The story was sweet and easy to follow, with a lovable group of friends! There were a few dynamics between characters that I found confusing (esp Sophie and the group) but the love story made those smaller things easy to overlook. The HEA was great and the bonus stories were a fun surprise. Overall, a good time!

The narrator needs a tissue for his nose!

I really, really wanted to like this book. I think if I read it instead of listening to it I could've gotten through it. I restarted the book at least 5x and could not get past the narrator's nasal speaking. In addition, I had a hard time keeping up with which character was who. The distinction between the two was seriously lacking. I'd try another book by this author with a different narrator.

Lan8iie Hayes Did it AGAIN!!

So good. If you're in the market for fun, erotic, sexy, loving, sweet men loving men, they 99 *_*in all their imperfections, Michael Dean will take you through it!! In all the messy imperfections of our humanity this sweet story reminds you of the romance that exists in each of us.

Thank you, Ms. Hayes, for this sweet romp into anyone's past. I adore this romantic series; having experienced some of this passion, angst, abandonment..., I thank you for reminding me of what was. My mate of 18 years & i experienced snippets of the beauty of these stories, B4 liver cancer reared its ugly presence in '97. Thank you for reminding me of what was!

Michael Dean..., what can I say??? His beautiful, masculine tones conveyed Lane's beautiful story in utter perfection. As if I needed to confess, his vocal truly did perfection to this well written saga. i can't believe she, once again, crafted another jewel in her Out in College series. Utter perfection.

Will there be any more??? This wasn't MY collegiate experience, not by a long shot!! Hence its attraction. Years after my exit from my alma mater I can so relate to these men. These stories; The hopes, desires, fears and opportunities she revives in every young person...., thank you!!!

Write on, and we'll read on, without fail!!❤

Great story and narration

If you love sports romance, MM, and friends to lovers, you will love Out On The Serve by Lane Hayes.

STORY: 4 stars
What's not to like? Hot guys who play volleyball and are moving around an at times awkward dance of friendship and longing. It didn't start out the best way, but when the spark was ignited, it was hard to ignore. Braden and Elliot are at time like oil and water, and yet, they also mesh so well that you know they belong together.

I loved the push and pull as well as the story and dialogue. The characters and plot were engaging, and I wanted to slap Sophie. LOL. But this story was an enjoyable read that I highly recommend.

NARRATION: 4 stars
This one was a little harder for me to decide on my rating. Michael Dean does a great job of bringing the story to life and making the characters real, but there are times when all of the voices melded together and sounded the same. It only happened occassionally, and overall, he did a great job at the narration.

OVERALL: 4 stars
Overall, this story was really good and I highly recommend downloading the book or the audiobook. I enjoyed listening to it, and the ending...happy sighs. It's well-written and well-read with interesting characters. One-click this 4 star read today!

Great addition to the series!

5 Stars!

Elliot and Braden couldn't be more different if they tried. Where Elliot was messy and easygoing, Braden was borderline OCD and a bit high-strung, however, somehow they manage to balance each other after becoming roommates for the summer. They're both lusting after the other and finally give in to their attraction, but their arrangement is as temporary as their living arrangements, or can it turn into more?

The chemistry between Elliot and Braden was off the charts and they were uber hot together, *fans self* and while yes, there's a lot of sexy times in this book (and the super hot short accompanying story), these guys talk a lot and spend time together doing other things and spending time with their friends.

It was great catching up with some of the guys from previous books, although I could have done without Sophie's drama and Gus, Elliot's volleyball partner. I'm quite intrigued about Drew, though.

Michael Dean's narration is as amazing as ever. He's just so consistently awesome in every single book I've listened him perform, and Out on the Serve is not the exception. He captured Elliot's quirkiness and Braden's more serious nature perfectly, making them come to life for me.

Overall, a fantastic book with an outstanding narration, what's not to love? Definitely a book you can't miss out on!

Serve me up more of Hayes and Dean and this series

I have a thing for Lane Hayes's stories; I especially have a thing for her audiobooks, proudly declaring that I have every single one of them. A lot of that has to do with the fact that I adore her writing and her ability for finding just the right kind of narrator for every single series. Don't you love it when an author uses the same narrator for each book in a series? Yep, that's part of why I never hesitate to one-click her audiobooks. Her latest one is the newest Out in College story, and it's once again voiced by none other than Michael Dean, one of the absolute best VO artists around.

Out on the Serve is a roommates to friends to lovers story between two former collegiate volleyball players who used to be rivals. Elliot Newcombe, a new professional volleyball player, has got himself a new roommate in Braden Marquette, a volleyball player who was on the opposite side of the net when they played in college. With Braden moving to Long Beach, being able to afford housing with someone like Elliot is a great setup. Becoming friends is a bonus, but not being attracted to your roommate is an impossibility. Spurred on by lustful feelings, Elliot and Braden cross that line, but when a more serious emotion creeps in, will these two be able to fight for their newfound love when pressure comes at them from all sides?

I always enjoy getting to re-experience a book I've fallen in love with through a different format, which is why audiobooks have become so darn addictive. Lane Hayes did a great job allowing Elliot and Braden's story to develop over a period of time, so listeners get to hear about how they became roomies and then buddies before they decided to act on that undeniable attraction of theirs. Michael Dean took the story and characters and added his own brand of brilliance to it, making for a wholly entertaining listening experience overall. Out on the Serve receives five stars.

Perfect!

Another successful effort by Michael Dean. I've read and listened to all of the books in this series, and each one has been better than the previous one.

I absolutely love this series. Ms Hayes writes beautifully, she really shows an empathy with each MC, and draws you into their world. This particular story is full of light hearted moments, but also has painful ones too, for both MCs.

Lane definitely knows how to write a cracking story, that is just full of all the feels that you can imagine, and this book was no different.. Iike I said before, I was drawn in hook line and sinker, desperate to find out how the story would work out for Elliot and Braden.

Braden is stronger than he thinks and strives to be independent, but he struggles with OCD and things which he can’t control and plan. Elliot comes along and throws a spanner into all of his plans! Elliot is thoughtful, funny and very loyal to his friends and family. He is adorable, with how sensitive he is, but also how strong he is too. He’s handsome, fit and adorable all round! I absolutely loved listening to their story.

The story is full of sass, laughter, tears, compassion, love and so much more. it transfered beautifully onto audible. Michael Dean totally captures the essence of the story.
