Well written - very enjoyable

Talk about being pulled into a story immediately. Wow. Bottom line this was just a really good book. It pulled me in immediately and held my complete attention from start to finish. It's well written story that has a really good storyline with plenty of suspense, intrigue and mystery, great characters and a little clean romance. It's a very entertaining, engaging and enjoyable story that is worth your time.

There are people who don't want any kind of religion in their stories, even if it’s just saying grace before they eat. So in that regard I guess I would consider this is a Christian mystery in some ways. Both main characters are religious. It is not preachy and it did not detract or interfere with the story for me in any way.

Alex and Royce were both great characters. Both were immediately likable and you couldn't help but root for them from the start.

Leonore A Woodsworth does a fantastic job with the narration. She has a pleasant voice that is easy to listen to for long periods of time. Clearly spoken with a nice even pace. Good character voices. Both male and female. There is not a lot of difference between her male and female voices, just a slight change in tone. It's enough to distinguish the characters though. Her narration pulls you right into the story and brings the characters, their emotions and the story to life. Very enjoyable

Out Of Darkness

Out of the Darkness
: Anne Patrick

FBI profiler Alex Michaels is on the run from a serial killer while still trying to catch him. A clean Christian suspense novel with romance in the works. Faith is challenged, trust needs to be re-gained and possibly a new life to begin. A very good book.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed.Leonor A Woodworth gives a fine performance.

Enjoyable.

This was a very enjoyable thriller. An ex-FBI profiler is on the run from a serial killer and meets a trucker who takes her to a new life, with the killer is on her trail. It was an interesting mystery, with a touch of romance as the two become closer. There was an underlying Christian element, which usually I don't care for, however it didn't distract from the story and I still really enjoyed it. The narrator did a great job with all the characters and I had no problem following conversations. I will certainly listen to more by this author and narrator. A Clean Love Story With A Little Mystery

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

To me this was more of a love story than a mystery. Yes, there is a serial killer on the loose hunting the protagonist, and yes, she is an FBI profiler who works with the agency in trying to capture the psychopath. However more than anything else, it is the love story between her and a widowed ex-jock who is trying to put his life back on track and has found God in the process. My favorite character was actually his son, who reminded me of the little boy in "Sleepless in Seattle"...
The story could have been developed a little better especially at the beginning. Right from the start, we find ourselves in the middle of a violent murder scene, still not exactly sure of what it's happening. It becomes clearer later on, but much is still left up in the air. I also think that Alex's decision to leave the FBI is a little unrealistic even after the trauma she has experienced. If you choose that type of career, you also accept the risks it entails. However, since everyone is different, I suppose that could happen.
The narration was really good and I did enjoy her performance.
It is a book that has been written for the Christian genre, and the fans of the happily ever after.

Good Listen

First I have to start by saying this book is a christen suspense/mystery and I'm not a religious person at all. I don't believe in "gods plan" for everyone so this book was a little hard for me to relate to regarding that aspect of it. But, the storyline was well developed and believable and the narrator did an excellent job. She wasn't distracting in her reading at all and made listening to the book enjoyable. The main storyline was believable and not to far fetched. The main character Alex is a retired FBI profiler on the run from a killer she was pursuing who is now pursuing her. She finds shelter with a kind stranger that takes her in. As she starts to weave her life with his she finds some peace and a new purpose in life until the killer who's chasing her catches up to her and her new life. It's a good listen that keeps you interested, the story flows easily and doesn't drag on in any way. If you like a good mystery and suspense with a strong christen influence this is the book for you.

I was provided a free copy of this book at my request from the narrator in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

A good Christian Romantic Suspense

Let me start off by saying I don't usually read/listen to Christian books. I would have appreciated knowing this had a strong Christian theme in the description. That being said this was still a good suspense to a degree although the story lacked enough of as twist to.make it interesting, but the narrator voiced the characters well enough to keep it worthwhile. This was a great narration of a mediocre book. If you love sweet, clean Christian romances with a touch of suspense this is the book for you.

Out of the Darkness

Anne Patrick has another great romantic mystery.

Alex loved her work for the FBI, but a serial killer has stolen that from her.
As Alex tries to disappear from coworkers and the situation, she hitches a ride with a truck driver and finds a job as his office assistant. Living a normal life appeals to Alex, especially if it includes Royce and his son.
Royce has his own past and doesn't push Alex about hers, but quietly supports her as she works through her nightmares but her nightmare is coming after her, pulling her from her safe seclusion.

Anne Patrick has a way of creating a story with the right balance of suspense and romance without offensive language.

Lenor Woodworth has a smooth voice that draws you in with each character she portrays.

Pretty good

Would've been awesome if I had been warned about the religious aspect of the book. Because of the lack of warning it felt a bit shoved in my face but past that it was a good story.

Good mystery

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. I had never read Anne Patrick, but I really liked her mystery. I finished it in less than two days. Often in Christian fiction the narrator is bad, but not so. Leonor Woodworth was an excellent narrator. I would suggest this to anyone who likes a good mystery
