Publisher's summary

FUC is going down under, so prepare for a wild ride with a 'roo and the chick he rescues.

Something strange is happening to Mari. She's not the same since her rescue from a mad scientist's lab. Still, her blackouts aren't reason enough to put her in a cage. Yet, what else is Jax to do when confronted with a giant ostrich terrorizing suburbia?

Wait. Wait. Think of it.

Snicker. Yeah, he had a laugh, too, when he heard the news, especially since he found Mari fast asleep, head buried in a bush. Such a menace to society.

Not.

But Mari is dangerous. The laid-back kangaroo can't see the darkness inside her; however, someone else can and they will do anything to get their paws on it.

Muahahahaha.

Love this Aussie!

Mari and Jax take you on a wild, hot and hilarious journey. From all the books in this series I love Jax's family the most. These are some wild and crazy Roo' s. Abby Craden is hands down the best voice for ALL these characters.

A new villain in town

I love most of what Eve Langlais writes. I know that some people do not like her writing style at times but I love thw sarcasm, the puns, and the innuendos that she puts within her writing. This story did not disappoint at all. I enjoy that Jax 🦘and I enjoyed Mari. I loved their own inner thoughts. Mari was the funnier of the two to me.

Mari is running around in her Ostrich form lost and having no idea how she escapes and why there is blood all around her. Jax is just trying to get paid. He does not listen to Mari which got annoying at times. Their whole adventure was great and I loved Jax's finally. I do know that his brother, Jeb, in 'Roo and the Angel. I hope to see a lot more of the Jones family.

I am also happy Miranda appeared. She is my favorite character of this series!! 🐇

a short fun shifter read to entertain.

what isn'twhen A.S.S. and F.U.C involved? and while it can be listened to out of order I would suggest starting from the beginning. this world is entertaining and steamy.

I love this office writing including this line of books however it does sadden me that we finally got a vegetarian character but she does Seem to be of the mistaken opinion that animals are not sentient beings :( epic 😥

I love Eve Langlais, but this story.....

What did you like best about Ostrich and the 'Roo? What did you like least?

The reader (Abby Craden) did an excellent job with the characters. What I don't like is how the book was drawn out. I thought it would be better audibly than reading, thinking maybe I just was not into the book, but that was not the case.

What do you think your next listen will be?

The next in Eve's "FUC" series

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Abby does a great job with the characters.

Do you think Ostrich and the 'Roo needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I think a mention in the next book should do nicely.

So glad to be back in the FUC world.

I love being back in the world of F.U.C. Jaxon is sent to contain an ostrich which is wreaking havoc on the suburbs. He is told that he is going on the orders of the father of the bird and that she has been in a cult. So Jax goes in and kidnaps her, knocks her out and puts her on a boat to take her back to her father. He thinks he is saving her from a cult, so he has his heart in the right place.

Mari is sure that she doesn’t have a father. She also hasn’t been in a cult. She was a former prisoner of Mastermind, the on-going villain of this series. She isn’t the same since she left the compound where she was held prisoner. She has problems shifting since then, among other issues.

So this series is really cute. I love how there are so many unusual shifters. I mean, how do you not love a series where you pair and ostrich and a kangaroo shifter? Oh, when Mari gets scared, she lays an egg. How funny is that?

Fun book quote
Would I taste like chicken? Then it occurred to her what meal these people planned, which brought on an even more evil realization. They’re going to shove their hand up my butt and fill me with stuffing. Squawk.

Narration
Abby Craden continues to really nail this series. I think she really brings out the humor of the story. I like her voices for all the characters. Her men and women’s voices are great. There are a ton of sounds that are included in this story, like in the quote above, she did great with all of those. I can’t imagine reading this series after have listened to her narrate it.

Squawk Feathers and Eggs. Silly, Steamy Fun.

The Silliest book in the series to date, and I could not be more pleased. The Steamy bits never dissapoint, and there is always just enough danger to keep things exciting, but at least once scene put the stupidest grin on my face trying to imagine it, and will be a favorite in my mind for a long time. Maybe not the best book in the series story wise, but probably the most entertaining, depending on what you are in the mood for. Never in the series has a character spent more time, or scenes in their animal shape, or to such comedic affect.
