Very Well Done

If you could sum up Orphan Train in three words, what would they be?

Sad, factual, inspirational.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Vivian. I found her to be very strong, positive, loving and interesting and able to get through life without bitterness and sorrow.

What about Danica Greer’s performance did you like?

She did a very good job or narrating the story. Her voice was clear and her pronunciation excellent. It was a pleasure listening to her.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did not cry but came very close to it.

Any additional comments?

I have been interested for a long time about the so-called Orphan Train. I have enjoyed documentaries and other books about it. I think this book presented the facts and outcomes of the orphans very well. It is almost unbelievable that so much cruelty to orphan children existed those many years ago.
