Publisher's summary

Javyous “JV” Goldsmith was inches away from having the career he’d worked his entire life for. One misstep and he found himself having to prove he deserved to be in the ring and that was the worst body blow his ego has ever received.

Kehlani James didn’t have much she was proud of except being an amazing mother and business owner. There was no way in the world she could make sense of being married to a celebrity boxer who has recently been condemned by the world for almost killing a man.

What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas. JV and Kelani have to decide if one plus one truly equals two. JV has been raised to believe that one woman is never enough and Kelani refuses to become just another story plastered all over the blogs but when two strangers' worlds get caught in an entanglement that disrupts everything they can count on, they both find themselves in the biggest fight of their lives.

Great Story 👍

This was an overall great book, I just wish there was more about the dad and uncle rivalry. Why was the dad in constant competition with his own brother? Still great read 👏

Enjoyed

Loved hour their love just developed and matured. Loved, loved, loved that Lani was NOT a weak female, and that she knew her worth! Female narrator does great voices, but she needs to pick up the speed. If she’s not speaking in the characters voices it’s ridiculously slow as if she is reading to preschoolers (Male narrator was great too)Even with that, overall, I loved the book.

Great on Audible

I thoroughly enjoyed this book when I read it on Kindle. The audiobook was just as good. I liked everything about it. The narrators were good, too it was just as I expected.

I Enjoyed This Story

This is my first read from this author and I really enjoyed it…..JV & Lani met in Las Vegas….got drunk and got married….the two were strangers, although they were from the same city. The couple were to stay married for one year to help reshape JV’s image and Lani would get a million dollars for helping him. Of course this couple fall for each other…although upon their initial meeting in the hotel’s bar, they were definitely attracted to one another. Of course with this marriage of convenience comes a little drama & trouble. There’s a lot going in this story…but, I love how JV took to Lani’s twins….he treated her children like they were his almost immediately. The twins fell for him too…such a cute story. I would love to see if Dominique and Celeste will have a story. The second time I listened to the new released audiobook…the male narrator was new to me…and I felt that he did a wonderful job…I would love to listen to more work from him….HOWEVER, the female narrator was terrible! She’s an experienced narrator that definitely requires more practice…she narrates as if she were reading to kindergarteners and her mispronunciation of the most simplistic word was like nails on a chalkboard….

Two became One

I really loved the story, but I wish there had been more backstory about JV’s father, mother and uncle.

I saw the vision (needed different narrators)

I really would like to know do they vet the narrators. Do they audition them before they give them the job to read their stories. They are supposed to make them come to life. Because that's what the narrator is supposed to do, bring the character to life. Make us engage with the character, really neither one of the narrators did that it was just kind of blah.

One of my favorite stories

The female narrator was a bit rough to listen to, but it’s still one of my favorites
