Publisher's Summary

A startlingly remarkable novel set in 1984 where a group of teenagers begin to discover powerful secrets about themselves, and learn that the only way to create their own future is to break away from previous generations.

They call it the plague.

A generation of children born with extreme genetic mutations.

They call it a home.

But it's a place of neglect and forced labor.

They call him a freak.

But Dog is just a boy who wants to be treated as normal.

They call them dangerous.

They might be right.

Critic Reviews

"One of Us is nearly impossible to put down." (Shawn Chesser, author of The Promise)

"A powerful and heartbreaking tale about hate, fear, and truth. Author Craig DiLouie is fearless as he explores the dark territory of the human heart." (Jonathan Maberry, New York Times best-selling author)

"Frightening in its familiarity, One of Us is a tale of human monsters and monstrous humans - authentic, brutal, and inevitable." (David Walton, internationally best-selling author of The Genius Plague)

Not Bad...

The storyline is classic. The narration wasn't bad. Overall, a good listen, though troubling. :(

AMAZING

I loved this book! The narration was perfect. The story was very thought provoking and extremely depressing. The plot was interesting and I was engrossed in the story. The characters were complex. I can't recommend this enough! A credit well spent.

to much like civil war story

I think that writing needed to describe characters better to see what makes the children undesirable. too much similarities between civil war made the action less important. it's an x men knock off
