Publisher's summary

From the NY Times Bestselling duo that wrote Agnes and the Hitman, the third book in the Liz Danger series.

Liz Danger is stuck in her hometown of Burney, Ohio, because her insane employer has rented a house there for the summer, which means she has three more months of trying to get a copy edit done, babysitting a seven-year-old, and figuring out what to do with three hundred and ninety-two teddy bears. And then there’s her mother. Even the good news that she’s living with a hot cop is tempered by the knowledge that sooner or later, she’s going to have to figure out her future, and she's still not sure what she wants that to be.

Vince Cooper is stuck in a town that keeps asking him when he’s going to make an honest woman of Liz Danger and in a job that’s just sunk into anarchy because of local and state politics that are kneecapping the police department, not to mention a biker gang and Liz’s ex-boyfriend who still hasn’t figured out that the ex part is permanent. Good thing he has Liz to come home to . . . until he doesn’t.

As Liz and Vince try to navigate their increasingly complicated relationship, they’re finding out startling new things about themselves and the town they’re trying to protect, and that means dealing with greedy politicians, arson, broken hearts (not theirs), vandalism, questionable real estate, murder, and a lot of soggy bears.

Didn't Want It To End!

What a great ending. Actually, I'm not sure if it is an ending. I hope not. I was glad to get all of the answers to the questions that started with book 1.

This book had more action, suspense, and danger. It still had some light moments. I was glad Vince and Liz got their HEA. They were put through the wringer. The entire town was in this one.

I still want to know what happens with Rayne and Molly, Mac and Olivia, does Faye ever move out? There have to be new adventures in Burney. I hope so.

I enjoyed the narration. It was very nicely done.

Wonderful blend of comedy, romance, and mystery. Couldn't put it down. I read the full series in one week.

This book is an original and engaging blend of fun, comedy, romance, and mystery. It is a great read and a delightful listening experience, featuring an enjoyable absence of dark themes. The authors skillfully weaves elements of comedy and romance into a captivating mystery narrative. I am a big fan of Jennifer Cruise and Bob Mayer's authored books, and I found this book to be great fun. This book features police detectives and a fun-loving, smart-ass protagonist, adding an extra layer of depth to the story. Reminiscent of the works of Jennifer Cruise and Bob Mayer, the novel offers an enjoyable blend of comedy, romance, and mystery, making it a truly engaging read."

As good as the first two books of series

An outstanding, hilarious romance with small town suspense thrown into the mix. No summary here needed as excellent summaries already posted. Just buy this, borrow it, sit in the library and read it. Just read it. Right after you read "Lavender's Blue" and "Rest in Pink." I really dislike this Liz Danger trilogy is over. I know I will reread this all again and probably laugh as much and hold my breath just as much next time.

Please note: Cris Dukehart and Eric G. Dove provided fine narration.

Great segways from characters and situations

Jennifer Crusie is my absolute favorite author, I always have few laugh out loud moments. I enjoyed this trilogy immensely. The authors make a great team. Oh and the narration is spot on (other than a few mispronounced words).

One in Vermilion

This entire series was fantastic. I blew through all three books faster than I wish, because I'm now sad they're over. Crusie and Mayer are so great at blending humor and action and romance. I haven't found any other books like theirs, even though I've been searching for years, ever since reading Agnes and the Hitman many years ago.
