Publisher's summary

Enter Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series with this short story previously published in the Death's Excellent Vacation anthology.

Vampires Cat Crawford and her husband Bones's romantic vacation is interrupted when they're enlisted to guard a spoiled heiress with both human and undead hitmen on her tail. Things quickly go from bad to worse when details of their assignment make their way through the supernatural grapevine, and what started as a simple bodyguard job ends up being a fight for survival that neither Cat nor Bones saw coming.

Narrator

Worst narrator possible, love the story but use to Tavia Gilbert. This narrator was by no means a good replacement, had a hard time making it through the whole story.

Bones will be Bones...

Short. Sweet and right to the point. Pun intended.

When their vacation becomes a job, things get a little hairy. It was good to see Kat and Bones getting up to trouble and having a little fun with it.

Cat and Bones Protect a Spoiled Brat

Narrator Performance: 🎧🎧🎧🎧

Great shorty from Jeaniene Frost. It's always fun to read about Cat & Bones and their exploits. And even though this was short we still got sexy action between them. Something that thrilled me was Bones' treatment of Justina and in turn her good deed towards him.

As far as narrators go Amanda Ronconi is one of the best. I absolutely love her but I think of her as Molly Harper's narrator. Hearing her perform Cat & Bones instead of Tavia Gilbert was a little weird but I definitely enjoyed it. In a way I liked her version of Bones' voice better. It was deeper in pitch than Gilbert's. However, unlike Gilbert, Ronconi can't seem to pull off a good English accent. It sounded Australian to me.

Short and sweet

Easy as can be and I’ll buy anything that has bones and cat in it.

Good story, terrible narrator

Was not credit worthy. Narrator was terrible and distracted you from storyline. Guess we are spoiled with Tavia.

different voice for Bones 😔

I was devestated by the different voice for Bones. The story was great, but I am sensitive above voice consistency.

Not Tavia

I have no problem with Amanda as a narrator in another series I have, but it was very distracting trying to get used to her in a series where Tavia has done every other book. It would have been infinitely better if they had been able to get Tavia to do this one, too. But despite that it was fun to find out why Bones and Cat were no longer welcome at Bite.

Nice short story

It's always nice to meet up with Kat and Bones, even for a short visit.

Narrated by: Amanda Ronconi Horrible

How Amanda Ronconi was selected to narrate the story is beyond me. Other than she’s monotone and boring she doesn’t even have the correct accents for the characters she should have listen to previous novels she used a Australian accent when it should’ve been a British accent sounded very strange and off and she has no character in her voice just read it it’s terrible story is wonderful she is a horrible narrator and doesn’t need to be even narrating dictionary‘s.

I really like the book was well written as always a little too short but I still enjoyed it and I think other people would enjoy it too I love the series I've been missing it I wish she would write a full length novel about bones and cat because I really enjoy this series
