Excellent help for struggling marriages

This is an excellent resource with good, godly advice for people struggling in their marriages. I also recommend it for this mentoring or counseling couples. There were sections that apply to any marriage, not only those in peril.

Very eye opening

Anyone going through marriage issues and problems really needs to take up this book and give it One More Try! Seriously not to be funny. You really don't know now of days what you have in front of you. Not everything on the other side of the grass is green and flourished with pretty flowers and pastures. Just because something looks good on the outside and seems good on the inside doesn't mean it's all good put together. What you had was great and you already knew it because you've been with it for so long and you knew it from the inside and out. You've grown with it you've built a lifetime with it and you may or may have not had kids with it So without said you knew everything about it. With this book it's a complete eye opener to everything and if you can get your mate to sit down and be with you and go through this book it will be the most important thing in your life and in your mates life I guarantee. You both will come out better than ever with the Grace of God and his glory.

Low context, pure scripture

As someone who has listened to a couple of Chapman‘s books, I knew there would be a fair amount of religion in this book, which is OK. Unfortunately, the first five chapters is almost 90% scripture, providing very little context and content of the title, and overall summary of what the book should be about.

Solid advice

Super good advice. Although it is difficult, this book helped me to realize what some of the dysfunction is that I bring to my marriage and how I can improve, whether my wife will or not. It was also very thorough in a book that was not especially long.

Good lessons over all.

Where does One More Try rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

little bit below average

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

He recommended a book by Judith Wallerstein. Will be reading that next.

Least: the really religious parts.

Any additional comments?

This is another great book from Gary Chapman. But it was heavy on the religious side. There where a couple chapters including the begging that where only about religion/god.
Recently i have started practicing my higher power as self-actualization and also working on mindfulness. So listening to the religious parts I was able to turn those around to work for me at least in some parts. But was still a little preachy.
