Publisher's Summary

Kelly Collins welcomes you back to Aspen Cove, the tiny Colorado town where fresh starts, hope, and true love live.

Katie Middleton knows what it’s like to stare death in the face. Growing up with a serious heart defect stopped her from really living. Now that she has a new heart, she’s determined not to miss out on anything wonderful ever again. Escaping her overprotective parents and opening a bakery in Aspen Cove, Katie starts crossing items off her bucket list as quickly as she can.

The one item that she’s not sure she’ll ever check off, however, is falling in love. That is until Bowie Bishop appears. When a car accident took his high school sweetheart, Bowie was sure he’d never love again. He disappeared from Aspen Cove to join the army, then spent nearly 10 years on active duty risking his life to save others. Now that an injury has forced him to retire, he finds himself in the last place he wants to be - back home.

He’s determined to take off as soon as he can, but when a cute, sassy little blonde catches his eye, he’s not so sure he’ll be able to leave Aspen Cove. Just when Katie knows for sure that her heart will only ever beat for Bowie, she discovers a secret from her past that will shake the foundation of their new relationship to its core. Will the truth tear them apart, or will they find salvation in each other’s arms? Find out now in One Hundred Heartbeats!

Easily My New Favorite Series

I don’t know how it’s possible, but I think I like this book even better than the first one. I love the way it is intertwined with the characters of the first book and allows them to grow, while still focusing on the primary characters of this book. I’m quickly becoming a fan of Ms. Collins wonderful writing style of slow build up and small reveals. It keeps the story moving along quickly and is very engaging. I also enjoy how the reader is slowly learning more and more about Bea’s life as the series continues. Since we never got to meet her, it’s great to see how she is evolving as a character through the eyes of others.

This book is also read by the amazing Mr. McAllister, who as always does an excellent job. For what it’s worth, I read the first two books so fast that I had to force myself to stop and write the reviews before starting the third book so I did not mix them up. The books are standalone-esque but in reality, it’s almost like a television show with different seasons that focus on different people, but everyone else is still there. I can’t wait to read more and see what else Ms. Collins and Mr. McAllister come up with.

I was provided with a free copy of this audio book for my honest review. The views expressed here are entirely my own.

Sweet, Small-town romance; Good Narration!

I listened to the audio version of this book. I thought the narration was good. The characters were easily distinguish. The narrator was male, and I thought he did a good job with the female voices.

This was the 2nd in the Aspen Cove series. I honestly thought that Bowie was going to spend his time wallowing in self pity, but he didn't. I liked the fact that people have him advice and if he may have wanted to easily dismiss it, he actually have it some thought.

Katie was so optimistic, which was a little different then her very first appearance in One Hundred Promises. I could easily understand not only Katie's need for independence, but her need to be independent.

Katie had a couple of secrets she withheld from Bowie. The first was not in her complete control, and the second was her decision. Things worked out for Bowie and Katie better than I thought they would. There were a couple of twists and turns, but Howie and Katie ultimately followed a path to their HEA.

I voluntarily listened to and reviewed the Audiobook received from the author.

Love at its best

I enjoyed the story very much. I thought it would be too drawn out, but it moved along at a steady pace. The characters were warm and sensitive. I loved Katie’s view on life. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

Will their pasts haunt Katie and Bowie’s future?

One Hundred Heartbeats is the second book in the Aspen Cove Romance series. Katie is new to Aspen Cove, but is doing her best to make the bakery that she inherited a success. While she’s keeping her past a secret, she’s looking forward to finding a future and a romance. When Bowie finally returns to town, Katie wonders if Bowie could be the man she finally loves. But when her reason for coming to Aspen Cove is revealed, will the past haunt their future?

Oh my goodness, this book will grab you right from the very beginning, hook your heart, and won’t let go, even after the book is done. I’ve read the book before, but actually listening to Katie and Bowie was just perfection! Katie is such a strong individual, both traditional and so sweet, but I definitely loved when her strength shined through the most. Bowie is so damaged from his past, but I loved how being home, surrounded by change, family, friendships, and Katie all help him heal and grow. Some of the secrets in this book are like a bomb dropping and I definitely got emotional while listening to this book! Mr. McAllister did a fantastic job bringing everyone to life for me, I love his voices and emotions and his narration style. Katie and Bowie are a couple that are filled with healing, passion, strength, and love!

Second Chance at Life and Love Romance

This was a cute second chance at life and love romance. There was an instant attraction between Bowie and Katie, but he was determined not to let his heart get involved again after his highschool sweetheart Brandy died. As a heart replacement recipient Katie knows that life is fleeting, so she created a bucket list and takes life one day at time. She said she was fine with just a good time with Bowie, but it was apparent early on that her feelings ran deep. He was so sweet about her chest scar especially since he was riddled with scars after his military service. Doc and the residents of Aspen Cove were funny and I loved how they took Katie in as one of their own. The recitation seemed a little monotone at times, but the narrator’s inflections for some of the characters was funny.

<br />love this story

even though I read the book before, I still found myself getting all misty-eyed. I love this story, it is definitely one of my favorites of the Aspen Cove series. I like the sound of this narrator's voice, but I just am not a fan of a man doing the female parts. It's just my personal preference. You get used to it once you're into the book, but if I had to choose I would have dual narrators for every book I listen to.

A wonderful touching story

If I thought book one in this series, One Hundred Reasons was wonderful, this one was extraordinary.
The story centers around Katie Middleton and Bowie Bishop.
Bowie has stayed away from his hometown for almost 10 years. His HS sweetheart, and the one he was going to marry was killed in a car accident that left him not only with a scar, but also a broken man. He promised never to fall in love, left town, and joined the military . becoming an elite soldier. He is determined to keep to himself.
Katie is in town because she was one of the recipients of a “pink card” from a woman she never met. A woman who gifted her a bakery. She has faced death and now that she has been given a second chance in life, she has left behind her overprotective parents and privileged life in order to find herself and stand on her own 2 feet. She has embraced the town and is determined to experience all the items in her bucket list.
Watching these two interact and develop a relationship was touching. Their past and present are intertwined and full of surprises.
The story is a touching story that is at times heartbreaking, but also heartwarming. A story about finding oneself, about hope , love and the miracles that life has to offer. It’s also a story about a town that protects their own.
This engaging story with it’s complex characters is one that you will remember for a very long time.
Another winner by this talented author.

Great

I always enjoying reading Kelly’s books and also listening to them.
They take you into a fantasy world which I sometimes wish I lived.
Katie loves her new life in Aspen Cove, loving her Bakery, her Friends.
Bowie doesn’t want to be in Aspen Cove as it has too many bad memories.
To know their story you have to listen, you will not be disappointed.
