This is a short read. This is Lydia and Maximilian's story. She has a chance for an inheritance the only problem is Maximilian. Will they survive the journey to his Estate? What will happen on the journey? Will feelings get in the way?.

Max and Lydia

Part of the Wayward Dukes' Alliance series I found it well-written and compelling. The story follows Lydia Montague and Max the Duke of Hastings as they travel to an inherited estate, navigating drama, danger, and unexpected twists like severe weather, sabotage, and highwaymen. Despite contending with a neglected property and a troublesome cousin upon arrival, Max and Lydia ultimately fall for each other. Anne Marie Damman’s narration was particularly entertaining throughout.

A Good Story

This was a sweet, engaging love story and an enjoyable listen overall. The narration was solid and helped bring the characters to life, and there were plenty of cute moments sprinkled throughout that added a fun, lighthearted edge. A charming story that kept me entertained.

Entertaining!

This book is part of the Wayward Dukes’ Alliance series, a Regency romance. Lydia and Maximilian’s journey is engaging and entertaining, with plenty of intrigue, secrets, and twists and turns. Lydia’s determination pairs perfectly with Maximilian’s protectiveness and support, making them a wonderful couple. Anne Marie Damman delivered a strong narration that brought the story to life. I'm Swooning!

I've just had the pleasure of listening to the audiobook version and this was a rather splendid experience. The story itself is beautifully written and so easy to follow and enjoy.
The main characters, Lydia and Maximilian, were just perfect together.
I loved how headstrong Lydia was. She could be very headstrong at times - the type of 'my way or no way' and this made her stand out as rather special. Don't get me wrong; she wasn't nasty, she just knew what she wanted and strove to get it.
Maximilian on the other hand came across as someone who knew right from wrong and could quietly guide Lydia and he was also very determined to keep her safe. I loved that he was willing to bend to her will at times.
Both were magic together and I loved how they found their love and allowed it to grow.
His proposal of marriage simply melted me!
