After two decades of looking after others, this is the day that Agnetha McMaster is reclaiming her life. It's her turn, her time, but will she have the courage to start again?

Ten years ago, Mitchell McMaster divorced Agnetha and married her best friend, Celeste. Now he suspects his second wife is having an affair. This is the day he’ll discover if karma has come back to bite him.

Thanks to a DNA test, this is the day that Hope McTeer will finally meet her biological father. But will the reunion bring Hope the answers that she’s looking for?

My first audible, best choice!

So relatable, Helen McAlpine’s accents were excellent! Great story, Shari Low I think you were stalking me in the 90’s between LA & Glasgow! Even down to living in my parents house now! Had a lovely weekend with this on in the background while I cooked, cleaned and chilled this weekend. Thank you for your genius creativity👍

Another great day

Love the format of Shari Low’s books, several characters, several stories and all coming together in one day. Keeps it all moving along at a good pace. I enjoy listening to epic sagas but love maself one of Shari’s days that can span years. Love the typical Glasgow humour too and great narration.

Another Shari Low Hit 4🌟🌟🌟🌟

What a fantastic listen, I was gripped from the start and listened all the way through in one go!

Shari Low is fast becoming one of my favourite authors. I loved that ' Auntie Val' appeared in this book, it's always really nice when authors crossover some characters from their previous books 😀

I liked that it was based on the 3 main characters stories from their own account but their lives were all I interwoven. I did guess who Hope's biological mother was early on, based on the personalities of other characters.

Agnetha was such a wonderful warm character that was like glue holding the family dynamics together ~ you get one in every family.

Helen McAlpine the narrator did a splendid job as narrator just like she always does, it's more of a performance. Helen is brilliant at voicing different accents.

I totally recommend this listen

Gave it 5 stars but a little rushed at end.

I so thoroughly enjoyed this story. The narration as usual was awesome.
But I was so disappointed that the long story ended with a rush at the most important meeting, which was long-awaited throughout, and pff it was over.

Love laughter and heartbreak.

This book is set on a timeline of just one day but there is a lot of looking back, to more than 20 years before this one special day.

The characters are totally loveable, except for one huge exception, and this exception is the cause of much heartache. However, she is also responsible, in a very round about way—and with no effort on her part—for the happily ever after that the reader is hanging out for. This HEA is the culmination of years and years where a secret heartache is carried around by the main character. She lives her life...a life of blissful highs and despondent lows— a life not too dissimilar to a fair proportion of this crazy world’s population.

This is a book that makes you ache for two people who had their dream snatched from them by a so called friend, and it makes you want to commit violence against that so called friend.

I have never read anything by Shari Low before but I will certainly be reading more. Helen McAlpine’s narration is just perfect, she has a huge range of different voices, male as well as female and she does well with the American accent. I just love her native Scottish accent and though some might find it a little difficult to decipher, I had no problem as I have Scotland in my blood. 😁
