These four silly and fantastical tales include wonderfully described mythical encounters with rat pirates, bizarre eyesore aliens, giant sea serpents, and a princess matching up against a beast.

This would perhaps be an ideal bedtime listen for brave and imaginative little ones who aren’t afraid of monsters under their bed.

Fantasy without concern

Why do adults shy away from "Kids" books? This was a quick listen and I did it almost all the way through in one sitting. It was enjoyable, funny and certainly did not have a care from the adult world. The settings are similar to today's world with DVDs. This book was funny and had me laughing out loud. Why do we stop allowing our brains to think the unreal and all the curious, silly possibilities? Is it because adults aren't supposed to be silly? Is it because we only think in terms of limiting our imaginations?

Garth Nix is a wonderful author and gives an afternoon a great break from adult, worldly thoughts.

Stig Wemyss is a fantastic narrator. I giggled a lot with his accent and character impersonations.

THANK YOU TO BOTH! I loved my afternoon!
