That smoking hot one-night stand with a former rock star?

Turns out he's my son's new music teacher. Oops.

But I didn't know that the night I met Campbell. All I knew was he played my body the same way he played a guitar - like he owned it.

My libido is still high-fiving me after being self-served for too many years, and we’re both ready for another night or two of fun, especially since we don’t just have chemistry in bed - we connect over everything.

That is, until I learn he’s the man who’ll be coming to my house twice a week to teach my son - the best music lessons money can buy.

Time to turn down the volume on our shenanigans. Only that’s easier said than done.

***

I can rock a guitar solo in front of thousands, I can write chart-topping tunes, and I can absolutely stop thinking about my student’s mother naked.

After all, I’m a single parent too, and I know what it’s like to put your kid first. That’s what I do every damn day.

Trouble is, now that I’ve had Mackenzie, it’s hard - and I do mean hard - to stop wanting her. Harder too when I get to know her, and learn she’s an awesome mom, a great friend, and, oh yeah, she happens to get along perfectly with my daughter.

All we have to do is set some rules. No dating, no nookie when the kids are around, and no one gets hurt.

It’s all working out beautifully. Until we start breaking the rules, one by one.

Making music with her in the bedroom is easy. But will we be more than just a real good time when the music stops?

Loved this!

This was a great listen! It's narrated by the amazing Sebastian York and Andi Arndt, who are excellent together and really brought the characters to life. Mackenzie was my favorite kind of lead female; strong, independent, and has a cute personality. Campbell is swoon worthy, a former teen heartthrob who is down to earth, treats women well, and is a good dad. The two made a perfect couple and had good chemistry. There were plenty of super hot romance scenes and the plot moved at a good pace. I'm looking forward to reading the other books in the series!

Loved listening to this fun and sexy story!

Audio Review

I am always excited to see Sebatian York and Andi Arndt as narrators! They always do such a great job and in this book it was no different. It was actually really fun when text messages were voiced by the respective narrators.

Once Upon a Great Time was a wonderful, sweet, but still steamy story about two parents who, despite the intense chemistry, puts their children’s happiness before their own. Campbell and Mackenzie initially meet in a bar where Campbell was performing during a trivia night. Mackenzie does not really socialize all that much any longer but because she is the queen of trivia, she enjoys these nights out. From the first eye contact, the attraction was instantaneous. Unfortunately that was all that was to be, stolen glances, until it wasn’t. They meet again and they have an amazing night. Unfortunately the next time they see each other is when they realize that Campbell with be teaching Mackenzie’s son.

All in all, this was a great story, the chemistry between these two were off the charts, starting with their initial night. There were so many scenes where I was smiling so much. It was really amusing watching these two try so hard to stay away from any romantic entanglements but try the whole friends thing. Both the kids were wonderful and loved how they were integrated into the story.

Thanks to the great Ms. Blakely!

As the mother of a 14 year old son, and also a woman who hasn't dated since her divorce almost 7 years ago, I thought this was one of the cutest stories ever! Thank you so much for the pick me up miss Lauren Blakely.

RomCom at its best ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I fell in love with Lauren Blakely ‘s books long ago and she just nails it every single time.

I giggled and smiled my way through Campbell and Mackenzie’s Love Story. And with the incredible Andi Arndt and Sebastian York doing dual narrative, I simply love spending my time listening to anything this triple threat creates.

This one really had me smiling, giggling, laughing and swooning and I would absolutely love to give it stars to the moon. Thank you Lauren, Andi and Sebastian for spending time with me❣️

Narration Greatly Enhanced the Romance

I listened to the audiobook, and I think the narration was excellent. I could really feel Campbell and Mackenzie's connection.

This was a sweet romantic story involving around single parenting of teenagers. I liked it because their kids were older, which comes with different issues than babies or toddlers. Also the kids were not obnoxious.

Along with this being a sweet romance, Campbell and Mackenzie managed to ratchet up the sexual tension to a boiling point. I also liked the story behind Mackenzie getting pregnant with her son. It was a little different.

I am looking forward to listening to the next book in the series about Campbell's brother.

Solid 4.5.

Definitely worth a credit. Loved the relationship and the realness of them as parents. Had worried it would be too kid focused, but it totally wasn't. Just fabulous all around

The perfect listen to Fall in love with

Narrated by the Sebastian York and Andi Arndt delivered a feel good romance about two people who deserved a happily ever after. Campbell and Mackenzie meet and have this instant connection and off the chart chemistry until he turns out to be her son’s music instructor. Swoons, long sexy conversations and matchmaking had me grinning like a sappy fool.

First, I love when York and Arndt narrated together. Listening is an absolute pleasure from the pacing to chemistry they create allowing the characters to come to life. Blakely introduces Campbell and Mackenzie and I am all in. He is a former teen idol. Both a single parents living in the Big Apple. Both are standup people you’d be happy to call friend.... So of course, I need them to have a happily ever after, but it's complicated by their kids and boundaries.

Second, the tale that unfolded delivered the sweetest romance with off the chart chemistry. I loved the late-night conversations and attempts at friendship, that involved the kids from cooking to geometry. The kids were awesome, and I loved some meddling that occurred. If you’re looking for a romance to swoon over this fall, Once Upon a Real Good Time is the perfect place to start. Around five hours in listening length, it’s perfect for your commute. Just don’t crash the car. Ok?
