How far would you go for happily ever after?

'An unputdownable fairy tale' Kerri Maniscalco, New York Times bestselling author of Kingdom of the Wicked

From the #1 Sunday Times bestselling author of the Caraval series, the first book in a new series about love, curses, and the lengths that people will go to for happily ever after.

For as long as she can remember, Evangeline Fox has believed in happily ever after. Until she learns that the love of her life is about to marry another, and her dreams are shattered.

Desperate to stop the wedding, and heal her wounded heart, Evangeline strikes a deal with the charismatic, but wicked, Prince of Hearts. In exchange for his help, he asks for three kisses, to be given at the time and place of his choosing.

But after Evangeline's first promised kiss, she learns that bargaining with an immortal is a dangerous game - and that the Prince of Hearts wants far more from her than she pledged. He has plans for Evangeline, plans that will either end in the greatest happily ever after, or the most exquisite tragedy . . .

Story
So much better than the Caraval trilogy! 🤌

I liked Stephanie Garber's pacing and writing more in this book than in the entire Caraval trilogy, it is less confusing and more direct to the point, you can read the book very quickly since things are happening all the time. There were heaps and heaps of drama and the characters were certainly likable. Most importantly, the FMC although kind of naïve was far more tolerable than Scarlett and Tella.

Some of the plot twists were good, like I had no idea there were vampires in this. I liked that bit a lot in cause of what happened with Jacks. Twists concerning Marisol and Tiberius were quite predictable but am not going to complain too much.

The second half of the book is far stronger. The ending was quite good, am looking forward to starting the next book immediately.
