Publisher's summary

Nick Ramsey has a problem. He keeps falling for straight alphas...and they keep disappointing him time and time again. He knows it's a character flaw, but when he checks out his 10-year high school reunion and gets reminded of his favorite schoolboy crush, he can't help but risk his heart all over again.

Deacon Santos knows he's bisexual...he's just not willing to let everyone else know it, too. He's always assumed that he'd end up with a woman by default. But now 30, and with no lover in sight, he's starting to feel the pull of creating a family all his own.

When Deacon offers Nick a place to stay after a nasty break up, they surprise one another by how quickly they fall into a strong friendship - and into bed.

But friends with benefits only works when no one's heart is on the line - and try as he might, Nick can’t stop himself from getting attached. When Nick finds the courage to move out, will Deacon chance the bravery it takes to come out of the closet for the man who steals his breath away?

Carter’s Crossing is a quaint little town nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, where some people go to get away, others arrive to start over, and plenty just find themselves when they’re lost or brokenhearted. This contemporary mpreg series is for adults only and is sure to leave you believing in the magic of true love and happily-ever-afters! This audiobook and every other audiobook in this stand-alone series can be listened to in any order.

continuity problems from book to book

the author usually does a great job in writing cute love stories...the vet series being the best in story arches, continutiy, and narration. This series changes the narrator a lot and unfortunately most of them are not good! there are continuity issues from book to book and somtimes within the book itself. this love story was one that was super frustrating to me. The alpha being a selfish idiot and the omega being a doormat. I dont think you should get this book or any in this series...it will only frustrate you in the end.

Great story with great characters

I enjoy this series by this author. The characters are always people I could see myself befriending in real life. They have ups and downs, but they always find their way back to each other. I love a happy ending for sure!

Nick & Deacon

Nick crushed on an older Deacon in high school and is excited at the chance to see him again. Deacon is full of identity issues and cannot commit to himself or Nick. A cute read.

as good as the ebook

The story is always 4 or 5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening, but not more then twice a year.
it's like a B

Can Deacon Santos overcome his fear?

Deacon Santos always thought he'd end up with a woman and start a family. Then Nick Ramsey goes to his 10 year high school reunion after losimng his job and being kicked out by his straight alpha boyfriend. Can Deacon come to grips with his fear of being labeled gayl while knowing he is bisexual. Nick becomes pregnant. Will Deacon be a real father to his child? I loved the story, characters, and narration. There is one more book in the Carter's Crossing Series. On my way to listen!

Wonderful Story

A sweet story with little angst that is very enjoyable. I really enjoyed watching Nick and Deacon go from good friends to lovers and seeing Nick truly grow. They have quite a few obstacles to navigate for their HEA. The narrator did a great job with the story and the characters. I really like his voice for Deacon. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.

This was the bet book in the series so far!

I have to say that Mr. Bates must have had a friend, a relative or someone. Because this story was so realistic, so true to form that I had to sit back and laugh and at times wipe away the tears because I was so taken back by his depiction of Nick's life lessons and set backs. His characterization of the homeless, down and out and lost Nick and then he runs into his secret high school crush; but woops it's not a secret is it! Deacon... A straight Alpha....or is he..... maybe not... this is a story like none other that I have ever read. It was fantastic and completely enjoyable. Mr. Burrows narration only adds more to the over all enjoyment of the story telling for this listener any way. This was my favorite of the entire series and I will be adding this series to my re-read listings. An avid reader in Rock Tavern, NY.

Sweet, low angst listen

Narration was good if a bit wooden and stilted in some places. The story was ok , sweet pretty low angst fit well with the series, not the best but not the worst either. Overall a nice listen.

Another good

One. Aiden did it again.

I took awhile for Deacon to come to his senses about his sexuality and his Love for another man, Nick.

Nick grows up in this story. Coming from one failed relationship to another just so he was not alone, he returns to Cater's Crossing for his class reunion and runs into his high school crush. He works on his independence and realizes he can stand on his own and take care of himself. Once he realizes that, Deacon then makes the decision he knew all along.
