A rollicking adventure

Omega Deep, my twelfth read from author Christopher Cartwright & the twelfth book in the highly entertaining Sam Reilly series. A well-written thriller with captivating & well-developed main characters. It reminds me of Dan Brown’s writing. These books have been a rollicking adventure & I’ll be reading more by this author as I already own more books in the series and am looking for sales to buy more yet! (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Slick, fast-paced action with memorable characters

A brilliant idea, very well executed. Delightful to listen even if you're not a fan of military thrillers, submarines, or politics. If you happen to like any of those things, then you will adore this book.

Best one so far!

Omega Deep by Christopher Cartwright and narrated by David Gilmore is an Audible book I requested and the review is voluntary. I absolutely love these books. I love this book for the technology that is discussed in it. Something that DARPA has had for some time but is little known. I personally think it was used to simulate the planes in 9/11. I guess that's why I really got into this . Of course the great story, characters, plot, suspense, action, and adventure had plenty to do with it too, lol! These are always exciting! The narration is always spot on too! Great job guys!!!

Another Hit!

Christopher Cartwright is an incredibly talented author who has created a wonderful series of books! I love the character of Sam Reilly, and find his adventures are full of vivid imagery, plausible situations, thought provoking concepts and well plotted. I have always been fascinated my submarines, and this story pulled me in from the first moment. I love how the author does not write a predictable story. David Gilmore performed this book wonderfully! He adds the right tension, suspense, and other emotions to his narration. I enjoy his distinguished voices for the various characters. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.

Yet another fantastic installment in the Sam Reilly series. Gotta love that Christopher Cartwright can keep cranking out such fun and exciting stories! The narration is really well done (not that this is a surprise at this point). If you want a good adventure story full of mystery, suspense and action, you owe it to yourself to dig into this series!

Extremely good

I found this audiobook to be an extremely good lesson. It has a great combination of mystery, suspense, drama and danger. This was a great addition to the series. The narrator does a wonderful job.

A 5* read/listen.

Omega Deep: Sam Reilly, Book 12. - What's new to say nothing, - just more exceptional story writing by Chris Cartwright, - what else would we expect.
Same high standard, same attention to detail, and a terrific storyline.
Buy it, read it, and be entertained by a gifted writer and a master storyteller.

A solid thriller with a hint of Sci Fi

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This was a great thriller, and kept me interested. Good characters that I felt connected to, good tight plot, reasonably good description of technology. I found myself listening late at night when I should have been sleeping. At first I was expecting a pure thriller, so was put off a little by some out-of-this world science, but once I readjusted my expectations to allow a little science fiction, I was fine. My only problems with the story were that I took away half of a star for erroneous science (e.g. the phrase "every Newton of torque" bothered me, since Newton is a measure of force, and Newton-meter is a measure of torque), and another half star because dialogue seemed a little overly simplistic and I couldn't quite decide if this was due to the writing or the narration. But apart from this (admittedly nitpicky) issues, the book is rock solid and fun.

This was my first Sam Reilly book, and I did not feel lost or feel like I was missing out on back story, so feel free to start in here.

Another great Cartwright book

David Gilmore is like an old friend as he spins another great adventure. the book is action packed and sam and his team work many angles to solve a cool mystery. Great detail and I could visualize all of the scenes in my head. Hated to stop my hikes and wait until the next day to listen. Enjoyed all the way through

Puts the Thrill in Thriller

Christopher Cartwright really knows how to put the “thrill” in “thriller”. This novel opens with a bang as we watch the submarine of the title get into a most unusual problem six weeks before the rest of the novel begins. My pulse was pounding by the end of the epilogue and I really wish the author would have taken us a few pages further into the action—but then, if he had, there really wouldn’t have been a mystery for us to work through for the rest of the book.

That mystery comes in the form of two different underwater wrecks—an airplane and a cargo ship that we, the reader, quickly come to think have to be connected. Cartwright presents a mixture of technical problems accessing the wrecks, good old fashioned mystery, and sudden pulse-pounding action. It’s a lot of fun to read and things only get more exciting as our heroes, Sam and Tom, get interested in locating the submarine that we followed into danger in the epilogue.

A lot of this novel is putting pieces in place that will clearly be important to later books in the series, but that didn’t take away from the excitement as I listened to this book for the first time. (I have not read any other works by this author.) When they finally figure out what happened to the Omega Deep and go after it, you’ll be on the edge of your seat trying to figure out how everyone will survive. If you like a fast-paced, action-packed adventure, you ought to give Omega Deep a try.

I received this book from Audiobook Boom in exchange for an honest review.
