Old Water

Avery Jankcovic had always been a moral law abiding man but then came the drought. His wife prayed that it would end. So did their preacher but it kept on punishing the land and the people like they had it coming. The severity of it and all that it brought helped to ease Avery's conscience for a little while anyway. It was a damned if you do and a damned if you don’t situation. Surely people would understand or maybe not.
