Publisher's Summary

Allie McMurphy is busy making yummy fudge for the summer holiday - until murder gives her something else to chew on....

Red, White, and Boom

It's not Fourth of July on Mackinac Island without fireworks and fudge. The Historic McMurphy Hotel and Fudge Shop is supplying the treats - and Allie has hired Rodney Rivers, the biggest name in aerial displays, to create an unforgettable spectacle. Unfortunately Allie finds him dead, covered with screaming-chicken fireworks, just before the entire warehouse of pyrotechnics goes up in smoke. Is it arson, or is it murder?

Allie and her bichonpoo, Mal, must sift through the suspects until the killer is caught and the island can enjoy a star-spangled celebration.

Won't Be Fooled Again

I read the other two books in this series and I thought I would get better. Perhaps the characters would develop more. I was wrong. Allie's character behaves like a fifteen year old who doesn't make good decisions. She is disregards good advise and keeps important facts from the police. Her boyfriend is Trent yet she spends most of her time with her "policeman friend" Rex. The other characters are flat and typical. The plot was boring and was repeated for every knew character introduced. There was also a great deal of time spent on a stray cat but no resolution was made in it's regard. The author also spent to much detail on character descriptions. I skipped ahead several times during the book and finally just gave up because I lost interest.

KEEP 'EM COMING

ANOTHER GREAT READ FROM NANCY COCO. I ADMIT I AM STILL A LITTLE ON THE FENCE ON THE TRENT/REX FRONT. I MEAN DOESN'T YOUR HEART BREAK JUST A LITTLE FOR THE ONE NOT CHOSEN? ANYWAY, ARSON AND THE 4TH OF JULY ARE A COMBO. ALTHOUGH, THERE COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER DEVELOPMENT WITH THE VILLAINOUS CHARACTERS. ALL IN ALL-VERY ENJOYABLE.

Ugh

Really pretty bad. Story, recipes, main character, secondary characters. Construction of the mystery itself was weak. Save your credits for anything else.

Good series

The stories are fun. The descriptions of the island make me want to go there. I hope there are more audible recordings of these books
