Publisher's summary

The only thing standing between me and death is my secret.

I’m a legacy - a secret I’d planned on taking to my grave. Gareth, the enigmatic leader of the Supernatural Guild, knows it, but can I trust him to keep it? When mysterious deaths occur as a result of magic that mimics my own, I no longer have to worry about Gareth exposing me - it will be one of my own that does. Another legacy is causing the chaos, and I’m forced to hunt my own kind. It seems simple, but we’ve existed for as long as we have because we’re better hunters than prey.

I’m forced to work with Gareth to clear my name and find the legacy responsible. Not only is my secret about to be revealed - so is his. Gareth is much more dangerous than I expected. Is he my friend or my enemy?

eh.

The main character has spent the last two books making stupid choices and fighting with every other character as they try to help her. I understand that it's an attempt to build tension, but it just caused me to be anxious and angry.

Moving along...

I thought that book one was better, there were a few things in this book that started annoying me. The woe is me I'm a Legacy really got to me after a while, it seems out of character. I would also like the author to stop re-explaining the cleanse every time it's mentioned, seriously we either understand by now or we never will!

I'm really enjoying the tension and the unfolding relationship between Levy and Gareth, the romantic and humorous elements were much needed.

I enjoyed the book enough that I'll definitely get the next book, but I'll be hoping book 3 is better.

The narration was the highlight of the book, the character voices are excellent and the delivery was dynamic and enjoyable to listen to.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

good book regardless of some repetition

the narrator fits the image of the character in your mind perfectly! she does a great job. there is repetition but not so much it makes this book hard to finish. WHERE IS BOOK 3 IN AUDIO?????

Captivating story with excellent narrator

I love this series & the narrator is superb! The first audio book I tried, I returned because I couldn’t stand the narrator, even though the story was excellent. This series however, hits a total home run with both!!

You can't help but to fall in love with Levy and Garrett. this is a fast-paced book with no fillers! I highly recommend

Will head for next in series

Entertaining. Twists & humor help balance repetition, cliches and frequent lengthy fight scenes. Excellent narrator. Very willing to get book 3 in the audio series.

A bit repetitive but still a decent read

Book 2 of the Legacy series picks up right after the first book. This isn't a stand alone book, but the past events are in such detail that you could get away with starting here. For new comers that's good... but for those of us who read the first book then it's annoying. I'd estimate that about 25% of the book was used to describe The Cleanse and it's aftermath. Another 10% percent of the book was about other things that happened in the first book... so it rounds out to about 60% - 65% of this book being new material.

Again, if you didn't read or it's been awhile since you read Book One then you will most likely the reminders. Me... not so much 😑

This story puts Levy up against other Legacy. This is where the story really could have gotten it's emotional depth. Levy should have been devasted and emotionally torn up about finally meeting other Legacy but on opposite sides. She is about to try to do the exact things that she and her family ran from in the past. But the pull doesn't come. Yes, the author mentions that she is sad about it but it than pain/frustration didn't transfer well.

Levy has to track and possible fight the self appointed Leader of the Legacy. These Legacy have been training and using their magic since birth, so thethe likelyhood of Levy (Who only knows a few spells) besting them is slim to none. Yet, guess what happens most of the book...

This Garret thing has me 50/50. I understand that the author is trying to give us some sexual tension and build up their angst. But, it's actually more like good flirting but no chemistry. I do hope they get together but the build up to their relationship just didn't WOW me.

I do like that Garrett is fresh and flirty. I guess the author could have had him playing the tough guy or made them hate each other. But thats been done so much. I am glad it is something slightly different with these two.

The narrator for this audio book was Stacy Lemboski. She has distinguishable characters and reads the story in the appropriate tones and emotion.

My star rating:

2 Stars ⭐⭐= Decent. Has Potential. Possibly a good idea for a story but something could have been better. Sometimes it's because the author put too little or too much into the wrong parts of the story. New authors sometimes fall in this ranking and move up as their series progresses. Doesn't mean I hated it. Just means it was missing something to push it over the hump.
