Publisher's summary

From the bestselling author of the Chronos series comes an enthralling novel of time travel, fast-paced action, and history-changing events.

When two time-traveling historians cross paths during one of the most tumultuous decades of the twentieth century, history goes helter-skelter. But which one broke the timeline?

In 2136 Madison Grace uncovers a key to the origins of CHRONOS, a time-travel agency with ties to her family’s mysterious past. Just as she is starting to jump through history, she returns to her timeline to find millions of lives erased - and only the people inside her house realize anything has changed.

In 2304 CHRONOS historian Tyson Reyes is assigned to observe the crucial events that played out in America’s civil rights movement. But a massive time shift occurs while he’s in 1965, and suddenly the history he sees isn’t the history he knows.

As Madi’s and Tyson’s journeys collide, they must prevent the past from being erased forever. But strange forces are at work. Are Madi and Tyson in control or merely pawns in someone else’s game?

Yuck!

Holy sh*t! I'm only at 15% and I'm done. This is the worst book I've ever started. It's confusing and very boring. If you had hoped to catch a reader right away you should have done better. AND of all of history Ms. Walker just HAD to go back to 1963, where African Americans were treated like shit. Yeah, that's not for me.

I love time travel but not the kind that makes me cringe every time I listen to a page. I also love Kate Rudd and Eric G. Dove but I can't listen to them read this either. Not in a book like this.

Sorry, Ms. Walker but you suck at your book-writing choices.

Definitely not YA

I’ll start by saying that I enjoyed the story, but I gave this 2 stars because the language is pretty foul. There are F words peppered through the whole story. There’s also more sex than in the author’s earlier works. I’m disappointed in Rysa Walker. I have loved her time travel novels and was so excited to see she was writing a new trilogy. I bought this audiobook without reading reviews because of Rysa’s past novels. I thought this would be the same. But the Timebound trilogy was clean. This one is definitely geared to a different audience, which I think is a mistake. I doubt I’ll be buying the other two books from this trilogy.

This book is an origin story from her Chronos series. Rysa Walker is a great author. Her characters have depth and personality. I am so glad to have more Chronos stories!!

More mature less guilty pleasure.

The Timebound series is a guilty pleasure of mine. I’ve listened to them more than once and I love Kate Rudd’s performance. THIS novel, however doesn’t make me feel like I’m indulging in YA Sci-fi. I love this new series and I am anxiously awaiting Rysa Walker’s next in this series. Rysa Walker has developed this world so well and the characters in this series seem to be more mature and dynamic than the chronos series characters are - lovable as they are.

Great Characters and multiple surprises

As with her other books, the characters are real and interesting. And, as always, Kate Rudd’s audiobook performance amplified the characters into life

Male narrator killed this book

I’m disappointed in the book, as well as the poor choice for male narrator. This book had more history than the previous Chronos series, but it wasn’t as cleverly tied into the story. I felt like I was in a boring history lecture hall. Read the ebook instead of finishing the audiobook because I couldn’t handle Dove’s monotonous narration.

One of the worst books I have ever listened to

The male narrator is horrible. I played it at every speed and it got worse 160 what is the best but I could never get into the story. I couldn't finish. I can't even tell you what it's about. it's a shame that an narrator can ruin a book so completely.

Complicate and convoluted.

It was hard to follow all of the characters especially as an audio book. Also for people from 300 years in the future the social references were a little too 2020's.

I really wanted to like it

Well written and well narrated. The problem I had with it is that there were too many points of view. I stopped after the third person from the the third future time was introduced. Major plot lines were being developed about the creation of time travel but it jumped around too much to keep it clear. I would get involved in one sectiom and then the next section would be yet another time and characters to memorise. Maybe easier with a print version, but I got too annoyed to finish.
