Story
Eight true crime stories of murder and mayhem. In my first audiobook as a true crime author I've started with a few of the stories that have haunted me for some time. Some of these stories are unbelievable in their brutality while others are astounding in the stupidity of the killers. This collection of stories are from all around the globe and have no common thread between them other than that they are both thought provoking and disturbing. The stories included in this anthology are dark and creepy and will leave you with a new understanding of just how fragile the human mind can be.

A little before midnight on May 30, 1997, 14-year-old Brandy DuVall waited at a bus stop in the Denver area for a ride back to her grandparents' home after spending the evening at a friend’s home. She was wearing a bright-red Chicago Bulls jersey bearing the number of her favorite player Michael Jordan. It was the shirt, a favorite of the Bloods gang, that attracted the five young gang members in the car that circled the block and came back to where she stood.

Publisher's Summary
Not all that glitters in sunny California is gold. There are beautiful beaches, fancy houses, and weather that cannot be beat. Once you scratch the surface of this shimmering façade, what you find may rock you to your core. Acclaimed writer Don Lasseter brings us three tales of wives so wicked that it goes to show the old moto “Happy Wife, Happy Life” can often times be seen as a threat.
First, Betty Broderick. She went from riches to rags and back to riches again, but when her husband tries to pull the rug out from under her, will she be the last one standing?
Catherine Thompson, financially strapped and unhappy in her married life, comes up with a plot to solve two of her problems. The question is, how many people will she bring down with her?
Last, but not least, we have Omaima Nelson. This newlywed has decided her honeymoon is over. Is she really a victim of domestic violence, or did she have darker plans all along? This story is so depraved, you will have to hear it to believe it.

Powerful
As usual, Kevin Pierce is superb as the narrator, and makes the story come alive. I always relish the thought of listening to his voice, and of course this story is revealed with his usual skill. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to everyone.
