Publisher's Summary

X Minus One is widely considered one of the best science fiction radio series ever to be broadcast. Featuring stories written by Rad Bradbury, Clifford Simak, Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein, and other science fiction writing luminaries, X Minus One set the bar for excellence in radio drama. Noted for its superb acting and directing and original music scores, X Minus One was hailed by critics for its stories of intelligence, heart, and sheer scare factor as each weekly episode transported the listener to otherworldly dimensions.

    Story
    "Please, cut out the commercials!"
If you could sum up X Minus One, Season Three in three words, what would they be?

    Classic space opera

What did you like best about this story?

    Well written and performed

What about full cast’s performance did you like?

    Everything

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    Both

    Any additional comments?

I am an alien from the Planet Zork. The reason we haven't invaded Earth is that we've been listening to your radio broadcasts since they first began and while they are in large parts of great interest, the one thing that decided us against an entirely peaceful invasion is that we'd have to put up with tedious, lead-footed commercials for products that either no longer exist, are intended to create artificial social anxiety or just plain dumb. Just give us the stories and show the hucksters the easiest way to the nearest black hole.

"Not nearly as interesting as Seasons 1 or 2"
What disappointed you about X Minus One, Season Three?

The boiler plate plots were thin at best. The acting troupe were cashing checks. The ads being left in was an unpleasant surprise, too.

Would you ever listen to anything by Ray Bradbury again?

Absolutely. This may have one marginalized story adapted from Ray Bradbury.

Have you listened to any of full cast’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. Seasons 1 and 2. Season 1 was quite good. Season 2 less so. And with Season 3 you know why it was cancelled.

What character would you cut from X Minus One, Season Three?

There are several stories that should have been left off the air.

    Story
    "Not bad, but not great"

The stories are not as good as season 1 - too light fir my taste.
The sound quality goes steadily downhill (the last episode is next to incomprehensible). Sound quality, the manner in which the copyright statement was made makes it sound like it was made in a garage.
    Advertisements appear about halfway through
