Publisher's summary

This radio dramatization of the classic movie features the four original stars. It aired on September 20, 1943.

Screen Guild Players was the most glamorous charity program on the airwaves. The hundreds of thousands of dollars raised for the Motion Picture Relief Fund built and maintained the Motion Picture Country House, providing housing for former film stars who were suffering from health or financial problems. Eager to be seen contributing to the cause, Hollywood's best and brightest flocked to the program. At first, it was primarily a variety show, with its first broadcast featuring Jack Benny, Joan Crawford, and Judy Garland. Later, it became an anthology show extraordinaire.

The Maltese Falcon

This is a very good radio version of the movie. Original actors and a well pared down script make this a fun little aside.

Remembrance of Things Past

For someone who has seen the movie, this audio version might seem abruptly truncated and speedened up perhaps to meet time limitations.
For someone who hasn't seen the movie it probably is a good introduction to the novel and the movie.
P.S.: Being dated it gives an a vignette about the time it was recorded.

Great Actors, Missing All the Best Lines

Great Actors. All the best lines from the book and movie are absent. Wastes limited time with commercials.
