Charming!

I loved this full cast edition. The shining star being Emma Thompson 's narration of course! I'll continue to follow these types of audible originals!

classic performance of a classic

Emma Thompson is brilliant, her nuanced tones bring the story to life. I can't say I've ever had this opinion before: I think I liked this more than when I read it myself. All the cast do a great job, my emotions followed along with their performances, I was totally drawn in.

Best Audible purchase so far.

This was a wonderful dramatization of a Jane Austin novel that I haven’t yet read for myself. I really loved it and found myself laughing often at the humorous observations and declarations. I enjoyed every moment and had a very difficult time stopping the narration when I had to do other things. This is one I’ll listen to many times over.

Wonderful dramatization!

I will say this upfront for anyone who is confused: this is a dramatization. It is not the entire book and it has been formatted to suit a radio broadcast style production. This is half way between a traditional unabridged audiobook and a movie. I absolutely LOVED this though. I have already read Northanger Abbey, but this was SUCH a fun treat to listen to and it gave me a whole new way to experience the story. Austen's fabulous wit here is also well preserved in the dialogue and every single actor is fabulous. I can definitely see myself listening to this again!

Talented actors with a less favored novel.

It was difficult to get past the first half but the second half was very enjoyable. I love Austen's works, including this one, but it was my least favorite novel.
