Great Book and A Wonderful Way to Live!!!

I've been a Vegetarian for over 25 years and this wonderful book shed light on additional steps that I can take to make the world a better place and enhance my overall quality of life.

I loved it and thought that it is well written and thought – provoking, while at the same time, not disparaging those who “don’t get it” but hopefully enlightening them.

I’d highly recommend reading “The World Peace Diet” and wish that it was recommended reading in nutritional classes and schools throughout.

I’m going to be going Vegan at least 1 – 2 days a week for the rest of the year and start moving in that direction.

Life changing

Where does The World Peace Diet rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The readers voice is soothing...I might have fallen asleep if not for the content.

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

This book changed my thinking in ways I did not dream were possible. I have made what I once thought of as an impossible shift in diet and the benefits to my life are clear.

Which scene was your favorite?

The whole book is beneficial.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The World Peace Diet was hard to listen to. Yes, there were times when I wanted to cry but I am grateful that I am able to be touched in this way.

Any additional comments?

I wish everyone could hear these words and think about what kind of world we want to live in. I know the world would become a better place.

Enlightening book

Would you listen to The World Peace Diet again? Why?

I discovered The World Peace Diet in 2012. I had been vegetarian for a year and became vegan while listening to this book. The overall feeling was of coming home at last. I resonated with the ideas Will Tuttle presents, and I was also challenged by perspectives that I had never thought of. It is a thought-provoking and life-changing book.

What other book might you compare The World Peace Diet to and why?

Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs and Wear Cows, by Melanie Joy.

Any additional comments?

This book is read by the author, who is not a professional reader. You can sometimes feel it, but I much prefer his sensitive reading to someone who just does the job.

Game changer!

This book is a game changer. Ranks in the top 5 books I have ever read for positive impact in my life and thoughts. It is filled with compassion and wisdom. Books like this one can change the world in a profound way if you are open to it. Even though I finished the book, it lives on inside of me. I think about it every day and with every food purchase I make and every bite I take.

Most Important Book of Our Time

This is definitely the best book I have ever read/heard. From the explanations of how our Western religions and herding cultures co-evolved, to the understanding and compassionate outlook towards those who propagate the system of domination over people and animals, this covers the gamut. An easy to follow narration and explanation of problems and solutions gives way to the most profound message our age could hear. Personal and sociological, this book winds through the reality of breaking the bondage of cultural, familial, and religious pressures and resistance that everyone faces on the heroic journey resulting in veganism. Those who engage their conscience and intellect so as to arrive at personal change and growth beyond habit, misinformation and lethargy can recieve the reward of health, peace, and progress.

Fantastic!

This solidified my decision to become vegan. Although parts were difficult to hear describing the hideous suffering animals endure, I made myself listen to every word with tears in my eyes.

Narration issue

The message is wonderful but the narration is too slow and piano interludes add to a melodramatic undertone that is not necessary. Also, the repetition of the same message said in multiple different ways was a bit maddening. Look Dr. Tuttle is brilliant but perhaps he shouldn’t narrate his own book.

I wish I had listened to the preview before hand

What would have made The World Peace Diet better?

Having a professional narrator. Removal the untrue and unsubstantiated statements in it.

Would you ever listen to anything by Will Tuttle again?

No

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Will Tuttle?

Anyone of the professionals that do other audio books.

Any additional comments?

His rant about circumcision is complete bull crap. He equates it with Female Genital Mutilation and it is nothing the same. As a circumcised man I can tell you that the pleasure i get from sex is just fine. He doesn't even mention the fact that it cuts down on STD spread. I also don't accept the message that eating animals makes us more violent people. I think the truth is that most people just don't want to think about where their food comes from. Also some people do think about where there food comes from and they are still wonderful people. Some of the kindest, best people I know are hunters and I believe they will never expand the violence they do to animals to people. I am a vegan. The thing that really bugs me is that most (maybe all) of what he says about not eating animals is true, but when you also say things that are untrue and seem weird to most people you discredit the whole message.
