Publisher's Summary

After his first grisly crime, Harvey Louis Carignan beat a death sentence and continued to manipulate, rape, and bludgeon women to death - using want ads to lure his young female victims. And time after time, justice was thwarted by a killer whose twisted legal genius was matched only by his sick savagery. Here, complete with the testimony of women who suffered his unspeakable sexual abuses and barely escaped with their lives and of the police who at last put him behind bars, is one of the most shattering and thought-provoking true-crime stories of our time.

Awful! Terrible! Keep shopping. The narrator is so bad. My navigation device has a better reading voice. What happen to Ann Rule's regular narrator, Laurel Merlington!?

writing great

Excellent writing and detailed account, narrator rather annoying. ..exaggerated speech...as though he thought he were on stage auditioning. I really enjoy Ann Rule's work.

Narrator is bad

The narrator makes this story very difficult to listen to.
I love Ann Rule's stories though.

Atrocious Narration

True crime, at least for me, is never a work of art, to say the least. To make this one worse, the narration is absolutely the WORST I have ever encountered. This guy does not perform a book. He reads it like a dramatic actor of two centuries ago. I would suggest that you not bother. I am returning it to Audible and do appreciate their policy on returns.

Interesting

The story interesting and woven together very well. The narrator sounded like a computer voice. At times it was hard to focus on the story because the narrator sounded so mechanical / robotic.
