    "Not what I expected."

To be fair, this may just be that I had expected a book that gave me another perspective on the Potter series and this was not it. As a result, my expectations may have been wrong.

It's a philosophical work and it's heavy. Not being a philosopher, it's hard for me to rate it as such a work. In the book, various writers write essays about a philosophical take on various aspects of Potter stories, such as examination of the nature of a soul in the Potter universe.

If you are into philosophy, then the book is for you. If like me, you're just hooked on Harry Potter and can't get enough of it, it's the wrong book.

"If I could get my credit back I would."
    Any additional comments?

The basis for the arguments in this book are completely flawed. Perfect example, you cant use traits of werewolfs or boggart to deduce if Sirius who is a animagus is a man or dog. Its comparing apples and oranges. I kept listening hoping the next chapter would be better but I was wrong. By the third or fourth chapter I had to turn it off as I found myself angrily yelling back at my phone. I get that is a debate about a fictional world. However, Rowling did such an amazing job creating this world that there is now excuse for for this level of failure. I expected a lot more and was disappointed.

"The Perfect Love Child of Potter and Philosophy"
Would you listen to The Ultimate Harry Potter and Philosophy again? Why?

This is such an interesting read/ listen for those who enjoy the intricate workings of the Harry Potter universe as well as the complex subject of philosophy and the many different of schools of thought within the subject. I would listen to this over and over again because it is genuinely interesting and original. I also love that is a collaboration piece and you are able to enjoy the thoughts of a few different authors making this book diverse and challenging.

    "Insightful"

I enjoyed the arguments put forth by this book. I thought most of it was insightful and on point. My only, vain, complaint is that the narrator said some of the names in a way to which I'm not accustomed.

"Maybe it gets better but I couldn't wait"

I was so excited to get this title, since the topic is terrific. I was disappointed first because the narrator sounds a bit like a machine - her accent is nice, but her inflection is very repetitive. Then it turns out that the book (as far as I could stand to go with it) is a thinly disguised rehash of all the old philosophical schools of thought with very little engagement with the topic.

This book adds a whole new dimension to the Series. Although I've read it twice, it inspired me to go back and read it again with a new perspective.

    "Awful, patronising narrator"

A lot of the content is fascinating and thought-provoking.

However, the narrator sets my teeth on edge with her patronising tone and does a rubbish job of differentiating when she's reading quotations. She also barely attempts to give the characters within those quotations distinct voices.
