Publisher's summary

America's economy is in shambles. . . .

Its citizens are terrified and dissatisfied. . . .

Could it all have been planned by a secret elite one hundred years ago?

The New World Order. Hitler referred to it in his diaries. President George H. W. Bush foretold of it in his speeches. Formed by a secretive global elite, the group seeking this new order has taken hold of the nation and perhaps the world. Its influence pervades every reach of American society, from the products we buy at the grocery store to the topics of evening news programs.

But could it also be true that the New World Order caused one of the greatest financial catastrophes of our time?

For years, best-selling author and legendary conspiracy researcher Jim Marrs has exposed information that the mainstream corporate media has refused to report. Now, with a crisis upon us, Marrs has yet again unearthed the lies to expose the insidious alliances that make up a secret world.

Consider this: In 1910, a handful of the world's most powerful government and corporate men gathered on Jekyll Island to discuss matters at a private hunting lodge. The agenda? First, the overthrow of the sitting American president; second, the creation of a central bank, one headed by a succession of elitists who would unconstitutionally control America's money and its economy for decades. . . .

Flash forward one hundred years. Never before have the American people been so unhappy. Apathy and paralysis are the nation's guiding principles. Public education has repeatedly failed. More and more Americans rely on overpriced pills for remedies to fabricated illnesses. The average American household spends eight hours a day in front of the television, ruled by the vague fears of terrorist attacks and economic collapse. Control of the mass media has devolved to a mere five multinational corporations.

Req. reading for anyone still THINKING

Would you consider the audio edition of The Trillion-Dollar Conspiracy Unabridged to be better than the print version?

Did not see the print edition.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The zombie-fied, lazy, poorly educated, hypnotized, shallow Americans who are sleeping through the wildly metastasticizing political cancer that is devouring our every Constitutionally endowed liberty and sealing this country's ruin.

What about John Pruden’s performance did you like?

It would be difficult to read this piece without infusing bias or emotion into the delivery. He does a marvelous job considering the text.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not really a pivotal moment. The material was presented logically and progressively.

great timely information

Almost spooky to listen to in the current time we are living though. It is almost as if he was predicting what our country is currently going through!

Great Book.

I usually listen as I walk and I greatly enjoyed this book. It is large but well worth the time. There are a large number of recommendations with regard to restoring our Republic which are spot on. I will certainly now buy another more recent book of his. Thank you. Excellent narration also.

entertainment at its best

This is an entertaining book; Seems like things were very well researched. It is just a story and a spin on successful businessmen/politicians and how they can control the world as if they all know each other lol. Although it does address how the Patriot act in several other things could go sideways it doesn't discuss the details of the Patriot act and if you look them up and read them you'll see where they were omitted from this book. I personally feel that the biggest issue is not that these people have been successful in their lives and been able to take advantage of their positions; Too many Americans complain about their congressmen and their senators but will not actually vote them out.

Critical flaws killed it.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The author has a fundamental flaw in his understanding of socialism. He constantly speaks of an evil conglomerate to install socialism (guess the #1 human development index countries in the world, the socialist Nordics are having a nightmare in their "everybody chips in for society's sake and well being hell) when the term should have been totalitarianism or corporativism... or totalitarian corporativist regime. Something of the sorts... I am having a hard time to finish this book because of this and some other key conceptual errors, or horrors I would say.

Would you ever listen to anything by Jim Marrs again?

No, I doubt it, even though I agree a lot with mainstream conspiracy theories I doubt I will waste my time with his work again.

Have you listened to any of John Pruden’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The narrator is amazingly good, 5 stars

Did The Trillion-Dollar Conspiracy Unabridged inspire you to do anything?

Ban Jim Mars from my list... if you can't get a concept as simple and widespread as socialism differentiated from totalitarianism then there is little hope for an interesting or worthwhile book.

Any additional comments?

This book showed promise but did not deliver. Also most of the initial chapters are common knowledge and simple to get info on decent well documented pages in the web.
