Publisher's summary

An NAACP Image Award nominee, The Black Male Handbook is an impassioned call to end the problems facing today's Black men. Author and activist Kevin Powell offers insights on steering away from violence and toward a more responsible manhood. A new climate is rising in the Black community. Despite a shared thirst for cutting-edge opportunities and fresh directions, today's hiphop generation is still plagued by many long-standing problems. But with guidance from these inspiring essays, the modern Black male can rise above the political, cultural, and spiritual struggles opposing him to thrive against all odds. Featured prominently on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Powell and his book offer welcome guidance to all Black men - and the women who love them. Narrators Ezra Knight, Kevin R. Free, and Avery Glymph each turn in compelling performances, capturing every facet of this important work.

Awesome and very useful book.

I'm planning on using certain parts of this book for a class of middle school bos that may have behavioral issues.

honesty should of been called "treat women better"

a majority of the book talks about treating women better, equal rights for woman, how women struggle because of men, women are abused by hurt men, women need our support, women are basically always right. to much emphasis on women but overall it's a book worth listening too.

A great tool and useful guide!

A great read with useful and practical information. I really hope more brothers are able to read or listen to this work. I know I'll be using it for my work within the community and have already shared it with some of my friends.

Postive Energy and Information For Black Men

I throughly enjoyed listening to this book.

With the landscape of America lacking postive energy and information for so called Black, African-American people if was refreshing to hear and see (reading along) the vast resources and examples that can really help our people thrive.

I will continue the quest to find more Black thought and excellence on Audible. And hopefully the powers that be will allow fpr the expansion of audiobooks like these and older ones to appear on the horizon.

Peace! Knowledge & Love!

This is a must read

This book is a great guide for black men. I wish I had read it when I was younger but this is something I will require my college aged son to read and my younger sons when they enter their teen years.
