good to listen

This is an excellent book. Ted Koppel has researched the subject thoroughly. Unfortunately it is evident that our government has no plan at all to prepare for a probable attack on our power grid. He has interviewed people who are making their own preparations and sharing ideas on what we ourselves can do. Everyone needs to read this book!!!!

Worth to listen to it

Lights Out is a good book that discusses the real possibility of a cyber attack to our nation's power grid. Ted Koppel provides a decent background regarding this topic and brings the listener upto speed with what has happened in the past; what is being done now; and what needs to be done in the future.

perfect guide

Wow. what a scary possibility if this were to actually happen. Ted did a great job of covering the various bases. His dislike of the 2nd amendment and armed Americans did seep through though in his book.

powerful and practical

Ted Koppel did a magnificent job with the information provided in his book. The last few chapters about preppers did not do much for me personally, but the information about the Mormon church and their level of preparedness was helpful, especially since I am using this as a reference for a thesis. Overall, Ted did a great job utilizing interviews that I'm sure only he could get!

Nice book

I'd say he turns the Lights ON with this book. Two days after reading this, I'm already more prepared for a disaster than I've ever been.

very well written

A much-needed examination of the dangers, context, politics of a catastrophic cyber attack on the U.S. electrical grid. The possible agents are numerous, motivated, and better equipped now than ever before to wreak havoc. I found myself taking these ideas as an opportunity to focus on what I can do, instead of waiting around for someone else to fix it.

Excellent book

This is the most in-depth expose' of the total lack of preparedness across the board in civil and government agencies I have yet read.
