Clear and very particular.

This is the best book to begin with stoicism. The author has been clear and very particular when it comes to his discussion. Now I know why this philosophy has been living for ages.

So much health info to digest.

There’s an art to living well and this book holds the secret to it. Yes, I’m now picturing a kinder and a calmer me. I used to think that’s already impossible as I’m also aging and with all problems our society face and the insecurities we have. However, giving this book the time to meditate on it gave me the answers to my problems. What remains now is: to act on it.

Gave my life a new sense of direction.

Pretty awesome book! Gave my life a new sense of direction. For something that was written many years ago, this audiobook by Maya Bennett is written in a simplistic way. Her book excels as a guide for applying Stoics. I’m learning to embrace the said philosophy.

Lessons are worth applying.

One evolving touchstone that anyone can run through. The principles revolving around stoic philosophy are simplified. These are lessons worth applying. Some of them which I find striking are: a person can’t change his surroundings but he can change his perspective and attitude instead of wasting the energy and another notable point is the power of gratitude. We always have something to be thankful for.

short pieces of stoicism

I dig the short pieces of stoicism and the thoughts I can consult on each day before facing another day. This book made me question how I have been living my life. I admire the way the author has explained things including mindfulness and value-based living.

Become a happy stoic.

Becoming a happy stoic is possible as this motivating guide guide us. It has highlighted the significance and benefits of self-control and self-awareness. The ability to think rationally is something I’ve been struggling with in the past. I’ve gotten some ideas on how to work on that aspect. Thanks a lot!
