Publisher's summary

Welcome to the troubling age of sex denialism - the age of gender-neutral labels, rigidly enforced equality, unisex spaces, and the systematic eradication of sexual difference. In her debut book, Sex Scandal, journalist Ashley McGuire investigates the alarming nationwide push to ignore the natural, biological distinctions between men and women that have been at the core of functioning human society since the dawn of time.

McGuire reports shocking examples of progressive sex denialism - from American schools, offices, bathrooms, and bedrooms - and reveals the most startling and alarming trend of all: that the frontline victims of our new "gender neutral" world are young women and girls, the very people progressive activists claim to be championing.

Required Reading!

I feel like I am living in some alternate universe when I look around me and see the schizophrenic policies and thought processes that have been thrust on society today. I am SO glad that this book is available for the world to read! The courage it took to write it is not missed by me, and I am very thankful for it.

Great book

Makes the case that women (especially) and men need the ideas of the sex binary.

Hmm....

it's an interesting and important book... I'm glad it was told. my wish and hope is that it's not too late. And that the author isn't disregarded and cancelled in these times.

Great summary of the chaos of sexual revolution.

Important for everyone to read. Just feeling your way through all of the gender activism, slogans, laws, etc won't help you make sense of it. This book will.

underlines the seriousness of the topic in question. the reader was very easy to listen to though.

Hard to believe this was written in 2017

I am just reading this as 2022 nears to an end and this book has only become more significant in pointing out the inherent differences of male and female. A must read, for everyone, "woke" or not.

Not even sure how to describe it

First I will say that the author makes some very valid and logical points. I greatly appreciate common sense from anyone, especially those who are willing to voice it even though it can be very unpopular. This book is a very strange mix of pro and anti feminism. She insists throughout the book that the ultimate goal of feminism has been for women to be treated the same as men. We wanted to make our bodies barron with birth control so we could have casual sex or careers without children, just like men. So we could be like men. I HIGHLY disagree with this narrative. The goal of feminism is NOT to be seen and treated the same as men, but just as people. Nothing about feminism should abdicate personal accountability or responsibility. Should we change fitness and strength standards to accommodate women in certain fields like the military and fire fighting? No. Should we blame feminism and the sexual revolution for her friend being sad that she gave a frat boy head and he wouldn't even acknowledge her after? No. I'm struggling to finish this book to be honest.
