Publisher's summary

Known for his network of conservative websites that draws millions of readers everyday, Andrew Breitbart has one main goal: to make sure the "liberally biased" major news outlets in this country cover all aspects of a story fairly. Breitbart is convinced that too many national stories are slanted by the news media in an unfair way.

In Righteous Indignation, Breitbart talks about the key issues that Americans face, how he has aligned himself with the Tea Party, and how one needs to deal with the liberal news world head on. Along the way, he details his early years, working with Matt Drudge, the Huffington Post, and so on, and how Breitbart developed his unique style of launching key websites to help get the word out to conservatives all over.

A rollicking and controversial read, Breitbart will certainly raise your blood pressure, one way or another.

I wish I could write as clearly and concisely as the author, Andrew Breitbart. Nothing I can scribble here today will do justice to this book. Whether you’re a veteran Tea Party member, or just plain confused by the ongoing media culture wars, you must read or listen to this thoroughly entertaining and informative writer’s work. Jeremy Guskin narrates the audio version flawlessly and with passion which makes, at least for me, the audio version the most important book I’ve purchased in a number of years.

As other reviewers have noted, chapter 6 is a concise yet amazingly complete synopsis of both the structure, development, and operational methods of the left. Listen to it more than once and take notes. This is important stuff. You will discover there are immediate benefits to be gained from a clear understanding of this chapter. This is not to say the earlier chapters are less important, just more developmental in their structure.

I’ve been fascinated by the left since my college days in the early 60's, and have spent much of my time since on a quest to understand their motivations. They’ve paraded before us a seemingly endless conga line of victims. They’ve characterized those of us objecting to their intrusions into our lives as bigots, haters and worse. They invented PC - the closest thing to an anti-free speech doctrine yet devised. They’ve invaded our schools, our universities, our governments and our daily lives with little or no resistance - till now.

Breitbart helped summarize my observations and studies of the past 40 years and filled in a number of missing elements. I now know one thing for certain - the left can and must be engaged! This book will tell you how.

Breakthrough

Chapter 6 of this book, Breakthrough, is the best short explanation of how this country got turned ass-backward politically, socially, and, now, alas economically. Rousseau to Marx to the Progressives to the Frankfurt School and Critical Theory to Chairman Mao and Hillary's main-man, Saul Alinsky, and before you know it Barrack Obama's holding court in the Oval Office. An amazing piece of work. Should be required reading for citizenship. Way to go, Andrew.

Very insightful!

Most of us realize by now that the mainstream media is controlled by the left. Breitbart does a great job of explaining how it got that way, and gives valuable insight as to how they operate. Breitbart got to the point where he could predict with great accuracy how the liberal media would respond to a story or event before they actually did. Any conservative planning on running for office had better buy this book and memorize it, or risk becoming "Palinized" in their campaign. A fantastic "how-to" book on dismantling and counter-attacking the baseless charges leveled by the left wing media. Hint: Offense, not defense.

Listened to the whole book in one day.

Breitbart is like a lot of us. Not caring at all about conservative politics until something just dawns on him. And poof! A political junky is born.

This book was very interesting for several reasons. Andrew and I got into conservatism roughly at the same time. As I read, I remembered just about every event.

However, Andrew actually became a player (unlike me) and played a significant role in shaping things.

This book tells how it happened. There is quite a good explanation of Saul Alinsky's tactics. It is also highly motivational.

Great book.

Brilliant, Pompous, and Great

I've never really "known" who Andrew Breitbart was. Sure, I remember the ACORN story explosion, and the confirmation (for me at least) that the traditional media is so out to lunch it's scary, but I didn't know this guy. If I'm honest I probably thought he was some rich guy who threw money around trying to influence politics, a la George Soros, but as it turns out I was wrong. Andrew Breitbart is what I can safely call a visionary. He saw what the problem was before most people knew there was a problem, and he know what the solution is. Read this book, Jeremy Guskin does a great job narrating Breitbart's words, and for someone like me who can't remember ever seeing an interview with the man, the voice could have been his for all I'm concerned.

His tone is arrogant at times, but the overall tone is like an older brother trying to give you pointers on how to pick up that really cute girl in your English class. All I can tell you is "Trust me, it will work!"

CPR: Captivating, Profound & Relevant

I've listened to Righteous Indignation three times now and will most probably listen again real soon. It's that good! It's flows beautifully with an honest, sincere and poignant approach to very serious issues currently affecting all of us. Jeremy Guskin's delivery of Breitbart's book is perfection; yes, beyond perfection! His voice isn't that of a polished announcer; it will grab and hold your attention for hours. If you're at all like me, my mind seems to drift a bit while listening to audiobooks. Not the case with this work of genius. It plainly explains! It digs deep and uncovers the strange history of what got us bogged down in political correctness and the diabolical reasons why! And you'll be given hope and encouraged to join the battle while being thoroughly entertained.

Bright Book

This book was very well written and extremely well narrated. Guskin sounds a lot like Breitbart, but less sleepy. I thought chapter 6 about the origins of the left-wing presence in modern academia and popular culture was excellent and served as the only real educational portion of the book. The rest is essentially an autobiography of a mostly uneventful early life, but one that continues to accelerate with digitally charged later experiences that cover many exciting major media events of the recent years with an exacting behind-the-scenes perspective. The book also reveals the origins of the Drudge Report, Huffingtonpost, and Breitbart's own websites. Andrew confesses his dirty little sin of internet addiction that began during the scandal-ridden Clinton era and explains how Arianna Huffington succeeded in seeing the body of Larry Lawrence disinterred from Arlington National Cemetery against Bill's objections. While shredding the media Andrew shows how he used Arianna's proven strategy of media manipulation to make the most of the epic work of James O'Keefe's and Hanna Giles' undercover operation exposing ACORN which ended in the "in-name-only" destruction of that cursed organization and it's congressional de-funding. Many other great stories are told in this book and it's a great use of a credit.
My only criticism is that like many on the right today Andrew fails to see the direct connection between Biblical Christianity and the principles on which the right rests which limits his book's scope and usefulness. In order to augment his notes in chapter 6 the author would do well to research the origins of "criticism" farther back in history starting with the French, German, and English Biblical Textual Critics as covered in the books "The King James Bible and the Modern Versions" Harvestime Books, Vance Ferrell (available online) and "Gipp's : An Understandable History of the Bible" Daystar Publishing, Samuel Gipp Th.D.

His name was Andrew Breitbart

Great book and incredibly informative on both the history of the progressive movement in America and an interesting breakdown of his rise as a conservative firebrand. It also give a glimpse at the horrid lack of integrity seen within the legacy media and how much power the average American has thanks to their smartphone.

A truly wonderful book by a man who was taken from us far too soon.

This is a fun book. I appreciate anyone who takes it to the left but this guy
is a full out smash-mouth warrior. He actually has me thinking that we could win our country back. Anyway, I???m glad he???s on our side. I highly recommend this book.

Awesome listen... Maga before Maga

Scary to listen to this book for the first time in 2019 and everything in it is happening now or has bloomed into today's politics. How you can vote democrat or rhino is beyond me at this point. I wonder if President Trump has met with Andrew in the past. Very fun and educational listen.
