Publisher's Summary

Internationally renowned psychiatrist, Viktor E. Frankl, endured years of unspeakable horror in Nazi death camps. During, and partly because of, his suffering, Dr. Frankl developed a revolutionary approach to psychotherapy known as logotherapy. At the core of his theory is the belief that man's primary motivational force is his search for meaning.

Man's Search for Meaning is more than a story of Viktor E. Frankl's triumph: it is a remarkable blend of science and humanism and an introduction to the most significant psychological movement of our day.

"worth the time for anyone searching inward"

Just finished listening. There are many incredibly beautiful gems in here of the epiphanies a person can have when everything is stripped away from them. The lessons in this book show without a doubt that we all have a choice on how we react to a situation or how someone treats us. I will need to listen to this book several times.

I like how compact and understandable the book is, even when it comes to psychological terms everything is told in a way that you can relate and understand it.

    "Meaning Saves Us"

I wrote these same words for his book "Man's Search for Ultimate Meaning". They express the same sentiment:

This book has been in my library for decades, and is one of my 'go-to' books for my work in behavioral health, as well as my personal life. Viktor Frankl is one of my heroes, and continues to be an inspiration in my work as a nurse and a therapist. Logottherapy- the work of helping a patient/client find meaning in their life when they feel despair and exist in what he called an 'existential vaccum'- is the work that came from Viktor's experiences in the Camps in WWII. I have given this book to so many people, patient and friend alike, and have always heard back from them that this is the story that turned them around in their heart. I was so excited to find it in a format where I could listen as someone told me the story; it was like Viktor himself was telling me his story. My connection to this story deepened so much when I heard the words. This is a book I would require any person studying to do therapy or anything in behavioral health or human services to study in their training so that they would know the meaning of finding a purpose to help us go on.

    "Insightful & Life Affirming"

I knew that this book would explain Frankl's psychological ideas and philosophies. What amazes me was Frankl's open and honest story telling. He was very insightful and intellectual. I wished this book last longer; it was excellent.
