Publisher's Summary

Praying for a happy ending, friends and family stood by Laci's grieving husband Scott. Four months later, Laci's decomposed body was found in the murky waters of San Francisco Bay. The body of her child had washed ashore about a mile away, after a possible "coffin birth." It was a sad closure to an exhaustive search, and a grim end to a marriage that by all accounts had appeared to be perfect.

Scott Peterson's behavior had cast a mysterious shadow over the death of his pregnant wife: his alibi on the day of the disappearance was questionable; he admitted to an affair with another woman; and when he was finally charged with capital murder, he had altered his appearance. Almost immediately, the media condemned Scott, even though he maintains his innocence. Is Scott Peterson a victim of circumstantial evidence? Despite the state attorney general's claim of a "slam dunk," the case that has gripped the nation is much more complex, and is yielding even more questions, doubts, accusations, and shocking revelations.

Disappointed

Really thought they were going to go into the actual court case. All this book did was print out all of the public statements given to the media from the families and prosecutors. A seven minute “afterword” was the only time the court case was mentioned. Very dissatisfied. Save your credit.

Nothing New Here

Laci was originally released December 7, 2003, and now the audible version gets released some 14 years later on November 23, 2017, without one single update. Pointless.
In all fairness to the author I have read every published book about this case as I could not get my mind around it. I really was hoping that 'Laci' would have some updates but no luck.

Same old, same old. On the plus side Malcolm Hillartner gives an excellent performance.

An inside look @ the story that gripped our Nation

The Laci Peterson murder was one of the most public trials I remember watching. This book gives a good inside look at the behind the scenes details from before she went missing to the trial of her husband that followed. The narrator is fantastic and really holds your attention. You can feel the emotions of those involved in the story.

Meh

Any additional comments?

No new info on the case, just a basic recount of it. I was expecting more.

Not Good- should have read the reviews

I'm sending this one back.
If you followed the horrible event there is not one new thing to learn. I was hoping for courtroom details and they were just a few right at the end.

That lovely woman and her baby captured so many of our hearts, and we ached for her family.

I read For Laci, written by her mother, quite a few years ago and in my opinion it was much better. I'm still looking for a more detailed account of this story. I don't know if there was much in the media about the courtroom proceedings or if there were I don't think I caught them at the time.

Can't recommend this one unless you didn't follow the case when it was all over the news.

Too much he said she said focus

What would have made Laci better?

Yes there was a lot of he said she said and opinions in this case. The book really focused on that and less on forensics and investigation.

Would you ever listen to anything by Michael Fleeman again?

Sure

Move on!

It drags on in areas where a point has been made repeatedly, repeatedly, repeatedly repeatedly
