WHAT???

I am a believer in the supernatural. I believe that there are people who are given the gift of being able to communicate with those who have passed. But this guy is NUTS. I had never heard of him, and thought the book sounded interesting. The stuff he says is SO out there, as if he knows exactly from the minute we are born to the minute we are reincarnated what happens, how it happens and why. I went along with it until he started talking about Abraham Lincoln coming to him with a group of others to help support him in his mission. The dude is so full of himself, and full of something else that I dare not say...I hate that I gave this fraud a dime of my money or a minute of my listening time. He is the type of fake that gives naysayers an example of absolute nonsense.

After telling my friend about the LUNACY I was listening to, she told me she had heard of the guy and that she had seen him and felt the same way. Apparently he is famous, but clearly as a sideshow freak. God bless him, he's making a ton of money.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. Not even interesting as total fiction.

Excellent with a spiritual twist!

This book was very interesting and spoke to me on many levels. I wasn't truly expecting the spiritual side of the message! Definitely a must read for anyone who wants to better understand themselves and others. It will leave you with a calmness and will center you in an oftentimes crazy world!6

This book really made me think.

I can't say the number of times I had to stop the audio because something was said that really struck home. I used to have a dream often as a child that was disturbing to me. It wasn't until after I "read" this book that I dug a little deeper and discovered how on the mark my recurring dream was about something I could not have known about as a 5 to 6 year old. It made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

Fantastic!

I have read many other books by well-known mediums, so I was afraid I wasn't going to learn anything new when I began to read this. I'm happy to report that, not only is this very well-written, it was full of surprising, new information. There was never a dull moment, and I LOVED all the helpful exercises toward the end of the book for protection, raising your vibration, etc. that the author included.

For anyone looking to learn about Spirit and the afterlife, how to improve your own quality of life, or even just for good entertainment, I highly recommend this book.

If you could sum up Ghosts Among Us in three words, what would they be?

All loving God.

That we are here to learn to be all loving and are not going to be punished for making mistakes along the way.

What does Lloyd James bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He finished it, lol.

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

We've been lied to

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Fans of Ghost Whisperer.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment. I was looking for an informative read about ghosts in today's society instead of a six and a half hour plug for Praagh's show.

Any additional comments?

Not a horrible book, just not accurately represented as what it is.

not great if you're looking for ghost stories

Mr. Van Praagh's focus here is to explain how HE perceives the world of ghosts around him. It's a little self-important, and he's not the best narrator. The last 1/3 of the book is info about how to become psychically grounded and what you need to go "ghost-hunting." If you are looking for individual ghost stories, (like I was), there aren't too many to be found in this book.

Good story But a bit bragidocious

Would you listen to Ghosts Among Us again? Why?

Yes, I have as well. I liked it.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Ghosts Among Us?

James' uncanny accuracy.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I had trouble turning it off many times.

Any additional comments?

James Van Praagh should have left out things such as the mention of the caliber of restaurants he'd eaten at, The cost of the wine, Champagne ect. Otherwise a good story.

Totally enjoyed this book

I really enjoyed this book! It was well written and very easy to listen to. James Van Praugh explained ghosts and the afterlife well and also spoke of cases that he worked on and also on his own life experiences. Even if are a believer of the after-life or not, it still gives the listener an opporturnity to think a bit differently.
