Publisher's summary

In Chicago, aka "Chiraq", the first 10 days of 2016 yielded 120 people shot. Baltimore's 2015 ended as its bloodiest and deadliest year - on a per capita basis. In 2014 Detroit's police chief called upon law-abiding citizens to take arms against its burgeoning violent, criminal subculture. Unfortunately these cities aren't anomalies. Year after year a seemingly unshakable reality of violence plagues Black communities nationwide. In fact, since 1980, Blacks have routinely accounted for almost half of America's annual homicide victims and more than half of the perpetrators - all while being a minor 13 percent of the national populace.

Yet a certain Black-based industry - which specializes in nurturing comfortable lies while burying uncomfortable truths - propagates a notion that racism is the foremost issue facing Black Americans, and White cops are bloodthirsty enforcers. Moreover, this cunning, race-peddling entity knows that it's easier to lie to Blacks than to convince Blacks that they've been lied to. Thus, Black lies are good for business; Black lives are good for nothing (except exploitation). And presently, business is booming.

Misleading and is not based on knowledge

This book is a chapter out of 50cent career start. 50cent attacked big names to get their attention and in getting their attention and mentioning his name on their albums their fans would notice 50cent. This book was worth the read but its meant to cause a stir and obviously be chosen by the other side, the author played the numbers. This book is not historical. This book is dealing from the 1980s up. After drugs was let loose in the black communities, the drugs affected the unborns and every black family, the public school system manipulates black single parents to put their children on METHAPHETAMINE and AMPHETAMINE and say it is for attention disorders or use some type of sedative medicine on black youths developing brains, after they segregated every state after desegregation supposedly started. The black church got in bed with DEMOCRATS heavy just the same as the slave owners did throughout slavery with the slave preachers control the slaves. If the neighborhoods are mostly black, blacks will kill blacks because people kill people, look at every native country of nationalities. Do real research before exploiting your own people. I will never again buy another book like this again. Every black real leader was kill by individuals like this author. Being black is a motivation to achieve in the face of adversity unlike any other ethnic group in the world. Black people are the culture; the world's culture. This book is as evil as BLM. PLEASE DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. People really need to understand that knowledge sits in between individual truths and beliefs. You have to work to receive knowledge because of the power it holds. BLACK LIVES MATTER because of the big business it generates. Its societal porn!

Naïve and misleading

This book seems to overlook historical context and draws broad social conclusions from anecdotal sources. Well every culture is responsible for policing their own this book cherry packs every single piece of evidence to attempt to overlook any Nuanced contacts. Misleading book.

List Taleeb Starkes with Thomas Sowell and Walter Williams

My daughters are college students and try to be socially aware. Unfortunately, what dad says about social responsibility and equitable opportunity for everyone is coming from an unwoke white guy in his 50s.
Even excellent and data laden offerings by Thomas Sowell and Walter Williams, despite them being black themselves, fails to convince.
Perhaps (with fingers crossed), Mr Starkes spate of data and logic can find a seam. In any event, as I continue to lament the loss of Dr King, I am heartened to know the US hasn’t lost everyone under 50. Great book on an essential topic.

WE WILL NOT TOLERATE BIAS HATRED IN OUR COMMUNITY.

I loved this book. It opened my eyes to alot of hatred and false neglects towards our people still til this day. After reading this book, even though I was already woke, it definitely has awaken me even more towards our government today. I started reading this book to help me become an better activist for my community which is Parkhill, Colorado. Its a working process but I definitely am on the right track. Thank you again for publishing this book Taleeb Starkes.

The author is a voice that needs to be understood

The author is intelligent backs up his words with facts doesn't mince words. Quantifying many problem areas that the race politic driven Democrat machine uses daily. It is always found the people will exployt and do unspeakable things to further their own agenda this author points out all too well what's really going on within the black lives matter movement . It is a bit depressing because there are so many ill informed and under educated individuals out there that believe the cartoons that they're told to believe in. I am glad this book was written. I look forward to real leadership within the black communities. ones that dont do race politics. the community's desrve better!

Good, performance lacking

Great data driven dissenting perspective. I wish he was able to have a professional reader, it can make a big difference. Overall, a needed balancing perspective in a world gone crazy.

Take it or leave it

I actually agree with much of what the author was saying. I have walked in his shoes (or at least the shoes of one who would share his ideals). It would probably be better in written form or with a better narrator.

He tries to be clever and charismatic but much of the humor falls flat. He often seems to struggle with reading his own words. A lot of the narrative feels as if it comes from other personalities like Tommy Sotomayor and the like only less passionate and genuine and a large portion of the book is repetitive filler.

I don't regret the purchase of this audio book but it failed to inform me or arm me with a unique take on things. It just felt like a retelling of the experience of a mostly observant average black male on Facebook or a Saturday barbershop conversation. Nothing special.

To the writer: Regroup, tighten up your craft, and come harder next time. The potential is there. You could be a force to be reckoned with one day.
